Inn on the road

Inigo helped Queen Marguerite to get out from the carriage, holding her hand. After that he opened Inn's dorr and came in. Glancing around, he looked for someone to welcome them. A man came from another room. He looked young and kind

"Welcome, my lord. My lady..would you like to dine? We have a very good cook ready to serve you.."

Inigo nodded

Thank you. Yes...We need to eat something and having rest in one of your rooms, for tonight. I'm the spanish ambassador, and I'm escorting the Queen of Navarre...Queen Marguerite..

The young man opened his eyes wide and bowed immediately

"Your Majesty..please, forgive me. We're not used having royal guests here..Please, have a sit. I'll serve you dinner immediately. And I'll prepare rooms for you.."

I climbed out of the carriage and took Inigo's hand as we entered the inn. I looked around and I was pleasantly surprised as to how well the place looked.

The young man approached and greeted us then bowed towards me.

"My young Sir you are forgiven of course. I shall of course have some dinner before I rest thank you. I said to the young man as he then went of to prepare the food. I turned to Inigo.
"My Lord Ambassador, although I trust you greatly with this inn and the people in it please have my royal tasters try the food before I eat and as you know it is all tradition that the food is tried before a monarch eats it.

Inigo sat at the table after her and nodded at her request

Majestad, if this makes you feel safer, your food will be tasted by your taster. We brought one with us. I could even taste it by myself. I would be honoured doing this for you, Majestad. Your safety comes before all..

He said when the young man brought them food

"My lord, Your Majesty..here is your dinner. We have pork and chicken, herring with vegetables, and also a soup with almonds. Water and red wine. Hope you enjoy your dinner..and just call me if you wants more or need something"

I smiled at the young man as he laid the food on the table then turned to Inigo.

"You are most kind in your request Inigo that you would taste it for me but please allow my taster to do so as I do need you for the journey.

Inigo please inform the kind sir that I shall require a heated bed tonight for it is very snowy and cold and I will also require him to send this letter ahead to my brother, but no one is to read it except for the King of France. I say to him as my taster tests the food then satisfied nods his head and I began to eat.

Inigo nodded at her requests

As you wish, Majestad. Your letter will be sent to your brother the King at once. One of my couriers will serve you immediately..

He gave the letter to his courier who left to reach his horse. Then he turned towards the young man

As you have heard, Her Majesty needs a suitable bed. It's very cold and she can't arrive ill in France. What can you do, boy?

He asked before starting to eat. The young man replied:
