Paul was sitting at his desk. He was reading news about the King of England and his new wife, Anne Boleyn. After reading he crossed himself and sighed deeply. That's why he sent a message to Cardinal Wolsey. He need talking with him who was so close to this evil King, once. A guard entered announcing his presence at Palace

"The cardinal is here? Please, let him come in immediately.."

I was escorted through to the Pope's presence and I greeted him.

"Your Holiness sent word to me that you wished to see me?

Paul looked at the Cardinal and nodded

"Cardinal Wolsey..thank you for coming. I heard that many things are happening at english court. I know that the King married Anne Boleyn and that she is with child, now. Is that true?"

I looked towards the Pope and then addressed him.

"Your Holiness I am honoured to meet you and yes there are indeed many things happening at the English Court. The new Queen is with child and from what I am told she is due in September and now there has been an act passed by Henry in which all have to recognise him as the head of the church and that she is the true queen of England. I can say I really do not like this new Queen and she I can see does not like me either but she has managed to infatuate the King of England and turn him away from the Catholic Church.

Paul nodded slowly

"I see..so he never wanted to find an agreement with Rome. That's why I'm going to excomunicate him from Church! And..about King's whore, Anne Boleyn. Why someone can't get rid of her?"

"Holiness you are right that King Henry never even looked towards Rome for a dispensation and went against you too. That whore of a Queen has control over the King and it does seem like no one wishes to be rid of her for fear as to what she might do and her family hold great power.

Paul nodded again

"The King himself gave power to them! But I heard she practise witchcraft..and she should be burnt for that! But for now..the Holy Church can just excomunicate King Henry. And you, Cardinal..be careful. That woman can easily ask your head.."

I nodded.

"Of course Holiness I understand that I for one have to be very cautious for that woman sees all too and the King she has him wrapped around her finger but if the rumour of witchcraft started to spread can you imagine what that would do to her. King Henry will not favour the excommunication but it is the right decision.

Paul was signing some papers

"Of course it is. Please, Cardinal Wolsey, keep this with you. It's the official excommunication of King Henry of England. Bring this to King. And tell him that, only if he regrets about his action, the Holy Mother Church can have him in Her arms again.."

He gave the paper to Wolsey, after appointing on it the Vatican's seal

I had returned to Rome to see his Holiness as I now had King Henry's reply. I waited for admittance to speak with him.
