While they were there both Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey and Henry Fitzroy, Duke of Richmond became violently sick, at the same time. Richmond was so ill, that for a while, it was feared he might die. July 1533 - Pope Clement VII excommunicates King Henry VIII & his advisers (including Thomas Cranmer) JSeptember 1533 - Anne Boleyn gives birth to Princess Elizabeth Tudor November 1533 - Henry Fitzroy, Henry VIII's illegitimate son, marries Mary Howard (daughter of Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk)

I was upset when you did not return to my chamber the other night You promised me that you had changed I shall not pester you about your mistresses instead I shall release you from this dreadful marriage of ours and return to my parents or Spain I have yet to decide but I shall not sit back and let you crush my soul and spirits by your cruelty of ignorance.

My dearest Charles,
I hope this finds you well. I am unable to attend the ceremony at Windsor today. I shall be at the celebrations after though. Remember that the king is your lifelong friend and shall always remain so, nobody can change this. It's dangerous to write things in letters but we are husband and wife that allows us to share the same thoughts of the mind. You shall remain in my thoughts today and don't let any person whether it woman or man provoke you.

I'm sorry hearing that you won't attend the ceremony. But I understand you fully. As you know, I'm almost forced to attend to. But don't feel bad for this. I'm fine. And you will be in my thoughts for all day. The King forgave me, and this must be a new beginning for us.
