| I was in my study when I am informed that my daughter Jane wished to speak with me and I nodded my head to the man servant and he opened the door to let her in. | |

| I smiled at my daughter as she entered my study and sat by the window.
"I did indeed want to see you Jane and thank you for coming. I would like you to attend upon Queen Anne always for I have spoken with his majesty and it does seem she is upset with her ladies and only trusts the Lady Margaret. I want you to get a position in the Queen's household Jane and get close to her whilst serving her. It will help our family to rise and also with you being in her household you will have a better chance of catching the eye of the king too. I trust Jane that you will not let me down Jane? | |

| Jane could not believe what her own father was saying! She laughed in complete and utter shock. “I will not seduce the king! He is just married to Anne Boleyn. You don’t wish to make enemies with the Boleyn’s do you father?” She rested her head in her hands wondering what on earth her father was thinking. | |

| I looked at my daughter and could not believe that she was standing up against me then I calmed my anger inside and spoke to her.
"Jane what I was trying to get at was I would like you to enter the household of Queen Anne as one of her ladies in waiting? You must forgive that outburst from before for you know Jane I would never ask such a task of you and that you know very well it was your brother Edward's suggestion as he has always had a hatred for the Boleyns. Jane will you do me the honour and join the household of Queen Anne and to think it would be a position for you at court too. Will you accept Jane? | |
