I tried to comprehend the feeling of being separated from your own child.

Thomas nodded approvingly

I just do my best, Your Highness. I'm arranging a good marriage for my eldest daughter, Margaret. With a gentleman. But nothing is decided yet. Personally, I just wish that my sons in law and my daughter in law are good catholic. Far from heresy. But we're in God's hands...

He added with a deep sigh and looking at her with sincerity

I nodded knowing how long such arrangements of marriage could take.

We must let our own children find the path of the religion they take. We can plant the seed and hope they follow it but we must not force their minds.

Thomas nodded again joining his hands

Naturally, Your Highness. But you know...sometimes it's necessary not to be merciful with heretics. I burned many by myself. And even if this can sound...cruel, I assure you that this is the only way to defeat evil, and to defend our Holy Mother Church...

He paused for a while, before adding

You're lucky. I heard that the Duke is a good catholic and he attends mess every sunday...

He said kindly and smiling

His words sent shivers down my spine and i had to sit down.

'If I can no longer be a catholic openly then I shall play along to whatever my brother wants I have only just found my love and happiness tell me how did we get into such a mess! I shall keep this little meeting a secret I just needed to know what was going on '

I looked at him somewhat fearful of my life now.

Thomas smiled indulgently

You have nothing to fear, Your Highness. His Majesty would never act against you or your husband. But...I don't want upset you with conversations about death and burned people. You're with child and you need to be calm...

His eyes fell on her big belly smiling again

My lady-in-waiting had searched the palace for my sister: having heard of my distress! Having found her in the gardens, she calls "Princess Mary! Princess Mary, please help!" Racing over to her, breathlessly addressed her. With a bow of her head to Sir Thomas she speaks "Your Grace...my lady, the princess Katherine; she is distraught! She needs your Highness...your sister is struan across the floor beside your other sisters tomb...."

I'm not a priest, Your Highness. But I bless you and your upcoming child. May God be with you and your whole family...

He said and bowed deeply before her

Jenny was in a short afternoon walk. She was happy because her cousin Anne offered her a position of lady-in-waiting. Jenny smiled. She stopped in front of bed and looked at the roses. She loved these flowers. She took a breath and felt the fresh scent of roses.

Catherine was walking with baby Henry when she noticed the new Howard girl at court casually Catherine approached her. Hello young Howard how are you. Catherine thought to keep the conversation light and steer away from serious talk matters.

Jenny turned and saw the Duchess Willoughby, wife of Duke Charles Brandon with their son. He was a very cute baby. Jenny smiled at her and said, "Hello, I'm very well and I hope you're well too." She gave a smile to Henry.

Catherine smiled she was trying to keep herself busy whilst Charles was busy doing what he had to do. Yes I have a lovely son now I wish I was still pregnant he is such a small boy and has yet to meet his namesake the King.

Jenny looked at the child. She loved children and wanted to have own. But so far she had no husband. "I believe that soon you will have another child. You're young and strong woman." Then she smiled. "You have chosen with a husband a beautiful name. I believe that the king was very pleased."

Catherine smiled enduring pregnancy was a hormonal challenge she a gave polite laugh she had only just given birth. I am not to sure about that you see my husband already has other children he does not want anymore other wise I would love some more children and you will find a man then I shall be coming to visit you with you're bundle of joy would you like to hold him. Catherine could see that Jenny loved children and felt at ease in her presence.

Jenny didn't knew Charles Brandon personally, but she heard about him a lot of things. For example, the fact that he was married with the king's sister. "Yes, I've heard about it. Children are joy. I hoping that I'll find good husband. He needn't have a title." She smiled. She want just be happy, that's all. Catherine was a wise woman, and Jenny knew that she could trust her.

Catherine gave Jenny a warm smile she was a lovely young lady to talk to but of the top of her head she could not think of any suitable men. Yes little Henry is my pride and joy you must find a man that does not take advantage of your kindness. You are very sweet natured that is something that men without titles look for to raise their little family. But not all men with titles are horrid some of them can be just as nice until that day enjoy your freedom and life at court. Marrying young was not easy especially when they already had children Catherine hoped that Jenny would find a man who did not have children it would save time on the arguments. None of my step children like me I think they see me as some kind of evil but all I have ever done is to love Charles should I be punished for that.

Jenny nodded approvingly. "I think that some men with titles can be nice and kind. But there are so few. Everytime I met a conceited Duke and others." She sighed. It wasn't easy to find a wonderful man with good qualities. "What a pity! I think that they don't know what they have in you. You are a kind woman and Sir Charles loves you. They maybe changes their opinion."

Catherine knew that Jenny was saying nice things to cheer her. No I don't think it will Jenny giving birth to my first child was meant to be my special day until one of Charles daughter gave birth to a baby she never even looked pregnant and trying to claim that the Duke of Glasgow was the farther when he is not that is what I have to put up with if I would of known about all the hassle I would be getting from them I wouldn't even of wanted to marry Charles. Catherine kept on walking looking at the flowers ready to open Jenny would make a great stepdaughter. Tell me then what kind of man are you looking for a servant, farmer, merchant.

Jenny listened and thought that Catherine's situation isn't easy. "Relationships in your family are very complicated." She smiled at Catherine and raised one eyebrow in question at the man. "His position isn't important. I think it will be enough that we loved. I'm hope that I meet someone good."

Catherine sighed yes things were certainly complicated and it was all because of Charles he brought Catherine into his life with the rest of it's rubbish. If Catherine hadn't married Charles she could of married a normal man with no rubbish and live in simple happiness and harmony. No my marriage is not one of happiness or love but I do not need a man to make me happy. You have the advantage to marry for a man who really loves you and treats you like the most important person in his life do not settle for second best. Their are many men who would adore having such a sweet young lady like you. Catherine started to calculate a list in her head of all the un-noble men at court.

Jenny was surprised that Catherine doesn't love her husband. They look like the perfect couple. Jenny always thought that they fell in love at first sight. Now she knew it wasn't. "Nowadays it's hard to find a man who really loved a woman. I know many girls who married the man which chose their father. I couldn't live like this. But I guess you just get used to." She sighed. Fortunately her father didn't choose their future husband.

Catherine frowned she did not know who even had the final say when she married Charles. That is a vood thing people say that Farthers want their daughters to marry someone like themself. But I do miss my mother a lot of the time can I ask you something have you met all of you're family.

"Exactly! But they didn't understand that their daughters are unfortunate." Jenny sighed. "It's strange, but I don't know all the family members. I know only the narrowest circle of relatives and sometimes I have trouble knowing who is who. We're so big family."
