Chapelle

I smile, No I havent been here long. I just arrived here from Nemours a few weeks ago. As I get up, one of my ladies approaches me, Baroness, here are your prayer beads. I nod and she quietly walks away. I like it here actually. Its far more different and much more fast paced. I can see a look of surprise on hiks face. What did I do now?....

He tried to arrange his face so he did not look so enthralled by her. Indeed she was very beautiful, and he didn't want to seem like a goon for staring. "Nemours? I have never been there. Most people find court agrees with them, they find country life a bore. I prefer the country, but I have only myself to look out for." This was the most he'd said to a woman in quite a while.

The country isnt that boring. Its just that I have no one to share it with since my father's passing. He is most intriguing I must admit but yet I see a mysterious, deep quality about him. I sit next to him in the pews. I hope to get to know you better Christophe. You seem to be in need of a friend. I start blushing...

On the contrary Christophe...... I clear my throat, smiling at him, ....I befriend people from all walks of life. People lower than me are the most interesting and I truly love the sense of normalcy from it all. So please, let me be your friend. I smile and think to myself that he is such a wonderful man: kind, courteous, and proper. You would mistake him as nobility. I do not mind that you are just a soldier. You are a kind person from what I see and I believe that I shall enjoy your company quite much. I turn towards the altar, still sitting in the pew, and close my eyes to pray, pray for something beautiful and magical to come to ome soon.

It feels as if all eyes are on me, as if God himself is looking down upon me, guiding me through moments with this person who I now call my friend. These feelings tell me that I must capture this moment...this is a sign. I turn my head, look at him for only a brief moment and see him looking towards the altar, eyes opened, but yet he looks sad. What troubles you? You can tell me...

I am speechless. I am so sorry to hear of your late wife's passing. One can never truly get over the tragic loss of a loved one. I take a deep breath. Our reasons to being at court seems to be quite similar. I came to court after the proper mourning period for my father. I couldnt bear to be in the home the he passed away in. It was too much to bear......I clear my throat......as for you, I believe you to be strong person and im sure that you will never give up on life and love. I stand up, Would you like to join me in my chambers for dinner tonight?

He gently steps away from the pews, allowing me to to walk into the aisle. My hand hand slightly brushes his and in complete embarassment, I blush, turning bright red. Im sorry.... I smooth out my dress, regaining my composure. Im going to go to my chambers to change into something much more comfortable for dinner. I trust that I shall see you soon? I ask quietly, heart fluttering slightly. I have never been this bold in my life...

Then I shall see you there shortly. I smile and signal to my ladies that it was time to leave. I cannot help but ot blush as I walk away froim him and trust me, my ladies notice. We giggle as we stand in a group at the back of the chapel. Baroness, he is only a soldier.... I scoff at them, I know that but he is quite handsome. You cannot throw away a sign from God now can you? They all nod with me in agreement and we walk out the chapel but not before catching once last glimpse of him till later...

Madeline nodded, giving a deep curtsey. "Yes, majesty."

Madeline gave a nod, placing her hand on the Bible. Though she was nervous, she drew a deep breath:

"I, Madeline De Fontanay, do solemnly swear my life to France," she began. "I promise to uphold the truth and promises I speak of, and swear that I shall not betray my kingdom on pain of death." She swallowed, "I will work diligently at my duties to and for the crown, and shall hold myself to a high standard of discretion."

She stopped to look at the king, "is there anything else your majesty wishes me to say?"

Madeline gave a half smile, dipping into a deep curtsey.

She gave a nod, "yes, of course majesty...and I thank you very much." She dipped into another low curtsey.

He bow to her and smile.

Sister Ana saw the king coming out of the chapel and immediately she went to meet him.
_"Majesté, je dois parler avec vous".
Sister Ana said looking at him coldly.

I went to the chapelle looking for Isabelle and I found her there.
"Greetings my lady" I say as i kiss her hand.
