Parliament Hall

"Charles walked in the Hall and took his seat next George Boleyn. Hall was already crowded. They were waiting anxiously for King's arrival"

Thomas entered in Parliament Hall with a worried expression on his face. He never wanted this day would come. Seeing the King, his Harry, appointing himself as Supreme Head of Church. He tried to look relaxed and sat next Thomas Boleyn

Geoffrey entered in the Hall with some guards

His Majesty the King!

He shouted

Fisher sat with the other clergy, his head high though his heart felt heavy.
As the king entered, his eyes caught sir More's gaze for a moment and he sighed. He looked calmly at Henry and prayed in silence to God, begging Him for strength and support.

Ursula come in the Westminster Hall she want know what happen.She stand behind other people very wide aft.

"Charles listened King's speech and looked around Hall to see people's reaction. Everyone were silent and anyone dared to speak. He glanced secretely at the Boleyn's sitting next to him and turned towards Henry again"

Geoffrey was standing next to King's throne. He was listening everything without replying, as he had to do because of his low rank. As the King addressed his word to Wareham, he looked at clergyman

Archbishop Wareham :

"Your Majesty, before talking, I leave the word to His Grace, Bishop Fisher, Archbishop of Rochester.."

He listened closely to the speeches made, knowing this could make or break the progress England was making. He sneaked a peek at the Boleyns, all grouped together, and smirked.

Fisher shook his head in disgust while the king spoke.
He stepped forward and looked around the huge room, then turned to his collegues.

Excellencies, we are asked to acknowledge His Majesty´s supreme authority over the Church in England.
Unfortunately we can not allow this to the king without breaking our cooperation with the Holy See.
If we renounce the unity of the Christian world and leave Peter's boat, we will drown in the waves of all heresies, sects, schisms and divisions.

People murmured around him so he paused a moment, then continued with loud, calm voice.
I tell you! Accepting royal suprementation over our Holy Church would be tantamount to the tearing to pieces of the mantle of Christ!

Geoffrey was still standing next to throne. He could see the King was disappointed by Fisher's words. He looked at Archbishop Wareham again, who was standing up to talk

Archbishop Wareham :

"I ask to put this proposal at votation. About His Majesty can have a new title: Supreme Head of English Church. But I add the caveat: until the Christ's law allows it. Who agrees to that?"

Geoffrey noticed everyone were silent. He looked at Wareham again

Arcgbishop Wareham :

"Very well. Qui tacet consentire videtur. Who keeps silent consents.."

"Charles stood up and bowed deeply as the King stood from his thone. He sighed and watched him leaving silently. He glanced at Boleyn's. There was a satisfied grin on their faces. He took a deep breath and detached from them, leaving the Hall after the King"

Thomas listened everything in silence. He gulped hardly when Wareham even proposed to vote the King as Supreme Head of Church. He bowed deeply when Henry walked away, and after looking at Fisher with a worried expression on his face, he left the Hall as well with slow steps

Fisher did not respond to the proposal of Wareham, he just listened to him and then crossed himself with his head bent.

While everyone left the room, he saw sir More's worried glance and shrugged.
Wareham whispered in his ear and he shook his head.
Of course... as far as the law of Christ allows... that is a way out, but nevertheless... who's law will he prefer and obey?

They looked at eachother grimly and left the Hall quietly.

As Fisher stood before the clergyman he watched them in silence for some moments. They knew that he survived a murder attempt but this was the first time he would talk in public again and he saw the curiosity on their faces. Would he temper his tone? Before he spoke he glanced up for a moment. On the balcony the Boleyns and right in front of him, Cromwell.

Thomas sat with George, staring down his enemy Fisher. He kept a proud demeanor among the other guests, knowing many whispered about him and his family

George stood silent and stony next to his father.He tried to ignore the reproaching stares of the attendees in the hall.

Fisher cleared his throat and turned to the clergymen.

Eminences, I make a strong appeal to you not to give in and answer to any earthly power, because your power has been ordained by God.

He watches their anxious faces and adds raising his voice.

The clergy should be free from the threat of assassination as they uphold the sanctity of the church.
