Easter Party

Mary came to the party later. She walked into the hall and saw many people around. She passed her way through the crowd and looked for a familiar face. Accidentally bumping to the dancing people which returned to her a dirty look. Mary hoped that it will also have the opportunity to greet Anne.

"Charles was still watching the King, still not believing his reaction and lost in his thoughts. When he heard suddenly a familiar voice. He turned his head, and once he saw Victoria, he forced a smile nodding quickly"

"He added caressing her cheek. He hoped she didn't noticed the King arguing with him"

"I am glad you could arrive." she smiles as he caresses her cheek "I presume Catherine and the baby are well?"

"Charles smiled her back and nodded again"

Yes...they are. Also, Catherine's mother is back to court, and I imagine she can't wait to see her grandson. What about you? How are my beautiful grandaughters?

"He asked smiling fatherly and proudly"

"Well, Lizzie has taken her first few steps." Victoria smiles at the thought of her daughter "And Mary is very well."

"Charles took Victoria's hand and leaded her next to window"

I'm really glad to hear that, my love. And...what about Thomas? Hope you solved things between you both. Last time I saw you...he looked very doubtful...

"He said whispering"

Entering unattended and quietly, I smile at the steward and make my way through the crowd. Several courtiers curtsey and bow as I pass but the blur, fading into the background as do their mumbles of "Your Grace"....I hadn't wanted to come, I didn't feel like celebrating but Henry had asked if I was going...and in a bid to avoid my brothers displeasure, I had.
With a sigh, I accept a glass of wine from one of the servants and take a seat. Quietly, lost in my thoughts; I sip at the wine.

I know that, my dear. I never had doubts about that. Little Mary is Thomas's daughter. And he has the most faithful and beautiful wife in the world...

"He replied while smiling again"

"And if Catherine has ever told the King on me, the evidence can be shown." she said as she crossed her fingers behind her back

"Charles frowned a bit. He knew very well her expression's face"

"He asked with an amused smile. She was very funny when she tried to look mysterious"

"She also knows about the rumor, does she not?" she sighs "I have a feeling she told the King's sister." she says as she crosses her arms

Victoria sighed with relief "Thank heavens" she wouldn't know hat to do if she got in real trouble "I don't think I have heard anything new from you lately."

Anne looked at Charles for a moment. She saw that Henry was very angry with him and Anne laughed vaguely. She came close to Henry and Katherine.

Why not? I really like this idea, my love. After all we're a big family, and I missed my grandaughters. So...if problems with Thomas are finally solved...may I hope to have a grandson in the future?

"He asked smiling meaningfully"

"I'll try." The Queen Catherine suddenly appears in her head "What if I can't give Thomas a son?" she then starts to worry a little "I don't want to end up like Queen Catherine."

"Charles shook indulgently his head"

Well...you're close to royality, dear...but you're not a Queen. I think that Lizzie and Mary could inherit the dukedom of Somerset, one day. And above all...Thomas loves you. He will never replace you...

"He said hlding softly her cheek"

His words comforted her "Well, not being Queen is the least of my worries." she smiles brightly "And I thank you for the comforting facts."

"Charles smiled again"

No need to thank, sweetheart. You know that I would do everything for you. As you know...I lost your childhood. And now I don't want to lose neither a moment of your life. I just try to be a good father for you...

"He said smiling tenderly. Even if it was not his fault, he couldn't avoid to feel guilty towards Victoria"

"I know it's not your fault and you shouldn't blame anyone." Victoria says in a soft tone voice as she takes his hands into hers "Mother was probably too nervous or too scared to tell anyone."
