I go to my wife's chambers and wait to be admitted.

Tell her her husband is here as she requested.

I was sitting by the windows watching as the servants left work to pursue more fun adventures outside of the palace. The sound of a mans voice interrupted my thoughts and startled me. When he mentioned Henri I smiled. "Henri you've come back to me please come in if you want to."

Hello my wife it has been a long time but now I am back here at Versailles and what has been happening here lately.

"Nothing of much importance alas, where have you been Henri... you left without telling me." For the past year I had felt very lonely here counting down the days to his possible return.

I was away on the continent dear but I will not leave you again.

There were many Marguerite's in this land, it was hard to know which one Henri was on about.

"Who are you talking about Henri."

Diane looked at him, utterly confused by him.

Marguerite de Valois. I believe you were speaking with her

"No. You are mistaken."

Diane shook her head annoyed. She rather missed the old Henri.

"Why do you lie Henri?"

I do not lie my dear you are right there are so many Marguerite's. I get confused.

Diane told him firmly. It was hard to have a conversation when he spoke so little.

Very well forgive me my lady. How are you Diane?

"I am well Henri. Your company has been missed but I know you have been busy."

Looking out at the window I had a thought.

"Shall we go on a hunt?"

My riding clothes had been cleaned, and folded by the servants. Placed on a bed waiting to be worn. I actually liked the feel of the silks and satin's of my dresses, but it was more comfortable to sit in something less restricting.

Yes why don't we go on a hunt it has been a while since i last saw you and spoke with you.

"I will be down as quickly as I can get changed."

Stepping behind the screen my lady in waiting helped me to change my clothes.

"I'd there any particular place you would like to go with me while hunting Diane

I had yet to visit the village for a long time.

"To spend some-time away from here, just you and I,"

I knew I wanted to feel the wind on my face to feel free.

That would be great then we shall spend as much time together as we would like Diane

I knelt down beside him, hands folded in my lap.

"Do you really mean it,"

I turned around to my ladies in waiting every one of them was staring.

"Of course Diane i want to spend time with you" i say as my hands brushed down her beautiful blonde hair.

“If you say so”

I called for one of my ladies to fetch my cloak.

“How have you been and tell me any latest developments”

I smiled at Diane and I did take a liking to her breasts that were pushed right up on her gown.

"Things are well Diane I must say. Court life is busy and I am not sure that you were here but father has married again and France has a new Queen Eleanor of Austria plus my new bride to be Catherine de Medici recently arrived in France too and I will meet with her.
