The Balcony

The children were with the nanny, and that gave Noelle some time to herself. She smoothed her skirts out, and stared out. She missed everything. Noelle missed being a wife, and she missed yelling at someone. She cracked a small smile, and placed her hands behind her. It was quite boring not having anyone to talk, too.

It was getting crowed in the Great Hall so George decided to get some fresh air out on the balcony. He then saw a beautiful woman lingering by herself. "Excuse me my lady, I hope i'm not disturbing you, but you look like you could use some company" He said as with a smile.

Noelle turned her head as she saw a good looking man come her way. She curtsied quickly, and nodded her head. "No you are not disturbing me. I was just watching the people walk by," she said in her Irish accent.

I quietly walk out onto the
balcony.I take in the fresh air,
breathing deeply .I look up into the sky,just looking at the stars and moon.They're
entrancing.I could stare up
into the sky for ages.

Bridget had to catch her breath. She had been running for what felt like ages. "She cannot find me. She shall never find me. Bridget you are fine," she said out loud to herself. She looked down quickly, and smiled. "Oh, I'm sorry. I did not see you there," she said lifting her head as she gazed at the Princess of England. Bridget quickly curtsied.

I notice lady talking to herself and look up at her curiously.

''Oh my lady ,you don't need
to apologize...but I must ask you are you alright my lady?I heard what you said and I want to make sure that you are fine.''

Bridget was stuck. What was she going to say? Oh, she escaped her abusive stepmother, and she was now looking for her? No! Bridget looked up at her, and put on a fake smile. "I am fine, your grace. It is nothing," she replied to her.

I smile slightly looking at her.

''Than I am very glad to hear that...Are you new at cout,my lady?''

Bridget shook her head yes in response to the princess's question. "I have left my fathers castle in Germany for England. My sister is here in England, too," Bridget said to her.

''Than how do you like English court,my lady?''

I ask smiling sweetly.

"I do enjoy it here. It is different than the other courts I have visited as a child," she replied. Bridget had been to many places. But, she never really spoke of were she had been to people.

I look at her curiously.

''May I ask what other courts did you visit? I love to visit new courts and to see new things but I don't have many opportunities for that....''

Bridget hugged her chest. She looked at the princess and, smiled. "Well, I've been to Russia, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Poland, Portugal. My family have homes in those various countries. I know it sounds strange but, I really don't like to speak about my family," she replied to Princess Mary.

I look at her and smile.

''Oh that is wonderful,you are very lucky...''

I nod and say.

''That is not strange many pepole don't like to speak about they familie,and I promise that I will never ask you about your family again...''

She is very interesting lady,but she semse to have some troble with her family and something worry her.I would like to help her but I don't know how.

''May I ask you for your name,my lady?''

I ask with a smile on my face.

"My name is Bridget Hoffman. I am a distant cousin of the Hoffman's of Ireland," she replied. Bridget was quite shy, and looked down at her feet. She had never spoken to any royal before.

It 's a pleasure to meet you,Lady Bridget.

I say softly looking at her.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, too, your highness," Bridget said curtsying. She blinked her eyes as she felt the something hit her eye. Bridget took a deep breath, and tilted her head. She noticed a small bird on the ground, and it seemed injured.

''Please call me Mary...''

I look at her.

''Are you alright,my lady?''

"Okay. Mary," Bridget replied. She looked at Mary, and figured she would tell her. Even though she barely knew this woman. She was going to explain herself. "I have run away from my abusive stepmother," she said to the girl.

I look at her for a moment little surprise.

''Oh I am very sorry...''

I pause then look at her and say.

''You will be safe here now,she will never find you here''

Bridget rubbed her neck, and picked up the bird. Seh rubbed it's back, and smiled down at it. "Do not worry. I shall care for you," she said to the animal. Bridget lifted her head, and smiled at Mary. "Thank you for listening," she replied.

I look at her and saw the little bird in her hand.

''Poor bird,I hope that she is not too much injured...''

I look up and say softly to her.

'' You're welcome,and if you ever need anything just let me know''

Bridget held the bird close to her chest. She hated seeing animals hurt. "I shall try my best to nurse her back to health," she said to Mary. Bridget was glad to know she could ask for anything. "Is there someone I could go to for protection," she asked.

'' You can go to Cardinal Thomas Wolsey...tell him that I sent you.''

I say kindly.
