James had heard that Thomas was back in court and such was his fondness for his old friend, he rushed from his convalescence to see him - against physician's orders. It felt like an age since they had made plans to locate Thomas' family and although the pair had not travelled together since that discussion, James had made enquiries on Thomas' behalf. From these enquires, he had come across several promising leads which he hoped would help Thomas on his mission to discover his parentage.
As James made down the library he could not help but smirk to himself. It felt unusual to be meeting Thomas in such a place - usually they would have been out in the country together or in the garrison, not cooped up in the library reading books. Finally James identified Thomas, surrounded by books like a scholar, bleary eyed. Indeed, James remarked how comfortable Thomas looked in his surrounding and wondered if he may accept some appointment in the court itself. Thomas' company would be a welcome change from the familiar faces in court, "I see you're still allowed drink in library," James said teasingly with a grin, "I hope you've saved some for me."
