| Amelia was quite tired this night. The journey from her small Scottish village to Stirling to join the Royal Court was exhausting and long. As soon as she arrived she was directed to her bedchamberand cchanged into a fresh gown that was laid upon her bed. The fire is roaring and she can hear the hustle and bustle of the court roaming about the halls but it felt like home to her.
Sighing, she smooths out her dress and watches the fire crackle while awaiting to hear for her first task from the Queen. | |

| A new lady had come to court to join Mary's household. Naturally, she was curious to hear the young lady's story and how she had found her way to the Scottish court. A servant walked Mary along with the chamber and gently knocked on the. He left quickly as Mary waited for an answer. | |

| Amelia hears a knock at the door and not thinking anything of it she quickly opens the door only to be surprised at the sight of the Queen. The Queen! She steps aside with one hand still on the door handle and drops into a deep curtsy,

| Mary smiled at the lady who had hair as bright as the sun! Mary gracefully glided into her chamber gesturing for her to shut the door so that they might begin to get to know each other. It was always a nuisance for Mary when new arrivals were presented to Mary in the great hall. It made it harder for Mary to get to the know the people who served her. Lady Amelia I am very glad to have you in my court. I hope that in time we can become friends. | |

| She slowly shut the door and turned towards the Queen. She is so much more beautiful in person and she seems to truly care for her ladies.
I truly hope for the same Your Majesty. I do hope that I can please you and serve to the best of my abilities. She cursed again and rose up and smiled again. | |

Mary sat down on an empty chair admiring the handy work of Amelia's neat and tidy braid. It was a full thick plait that elegantly stayed in place covering her left side. | |

| Amelia took a deep breath and hoped that her story wouldn't displease the Queen. She always thought of herself as nothing special,
Um well, I hail from a small village just outside of Aberdeen. My father Lord Richard, is a simple country knight who is still in His Majesty's service. My mother is an English woman but she was born in Paris. I Am An Only child. My dream since I was a child was to work with the Royal family and also to marry and have children someday. | |

| All in good time Amelia. Love is the most precious thing to feel and cannot be rushed. Is their a man you had in mind.~
What her ladies did in their own free time was in no concern of Mary. As long as they knew to be up to their duties and that they now represented the royal court of Scotland then it was fine. Scandal among her ladies was not tolerated that was why Mary chose to only have a few. So that she may get to know them and hoped they would stay on for long employment. | |

Mary wasn't so sure just how long she'd be going for. Perhaps for the rest of the year. But the boat was ready and prepared for the morning sail. | |

| Amelia immediately perks up. She has always wanted to go to France. She has heard so many stories about the culture, the food, and the frivolity of the French court. She smiles, Of course I will accompany Your Majesty to France. I have always wanted to go and experience something completely new. | |
