Travelling to France was not a trip the empress wanted to make again. As the ports of France appeared, questions flew through her mind at rapid speed. Why did her sister need to speak with her about Charles? With questions still swimming in her mind, the empress slowly walked onto land, carefully carrying herself as any dignified queen or empress should. A small gathering of courtiers stood by holding coats of arms, headed by king Francis’ courtiers. The empress stood out from the rest of them. She was curvy and tall, with eyes as green as the colour of the grass and hair as dark as a ravens. Her skin was tan, as most meetings the empress held outside, back at home in Spain.

I had heard that my sister Isabella had landed in France. I had decided to head down to the port to greet her myself. The royal carriage pulled up and as the door was opened for me I could see my sister there and I was so happy to see her.
