He smiled again and touched softly her arm

I blush a little and reply softly,"Thank you-though I do not know what help I would be to a duchess. I know nothing of courtly life or how to talk with a noble..."

At the touch of his hand on my arm I flinch a little and smile shyly.

Geoffrey nodded slowly

He smiled and stood up

Come...I'll show you your room. It's an empty room, used by a lady in waiting who left Palace some month ago. So you can use it...

He said with a kind smile, extending his hand to her

I smile appreciatively and stand up,"Thank you-you have been very kind to me."

As he extends his hand I pretend I do not see and continue to walk through the kitchen and to the room.

Geoffrey came in the kitchen after realizing there was no water anymore in his room. Being thirsty, he came to look for some water. He was still rubbing his sleepy eyes when he saw lady Nan standing there. Surprised, he bowed immediately and smiled at her

Oh...lady Nan! I didn't know you were here. Can I help you?

He asked shyly, trying to fix better his nightgown on himself

Geoffrey noticed she was eating hungrily and smiled. He came closer to table

You had no need to disturb yourself coming until here, my lady. I could bring you some food in your chambers. A kitchen is not a place for a duchess. Can I prepare you some other french bread? Or maybe a soup?

He asked smiling, pouring some water for himself

Geoffrey giggled and brought her some water

As you wish, Your...ops! I meant lady Nan. You're different from other ladies in court. Most of them don't even think it's proper talking with a servant. But I consider myself as your friend, lady Nan. I heard that the King gave you your own private office. Is that true?

He asked smiling, feeling more awake after drinking

Geoffrey sat next to her and smiled noticing she was liking that bread so much

Oh really? Why, my lady? It's maybe some difficult task? If so, you should be proud of yourself. It means that the King trusts you deeply...

He said sincerely, pouring some wine for himself too

Geoffrey opened his eyes bigger and looked suddenly at his glass of water. He giggled a bit and shook his head

Oh...I was just looking for some water, lady Nan. I don't walk around Palace at night, usually. I wake up very early in the morning. Rather, I could escort you until your room when you have finished your meal. A young lady shouldn't walk around Palace at night too..

He said with a warm, friendly smile

Geoffrey laughed and stood up

Dragons in the corridor? Oh my God...ithat's the only thing this court lacks...

He rolled his eyes while smiling and left the kitchen with her

I go to the kitchens in the evening and carefully enter. It is very warm and I wish I didn't have this big dress making me warmer.

Geoffrey was washing some dishes after dinner. Suddenly he heard a female voice behind him and turned his head. He saw a young lady standing there and smiled, surprised

He asked kindly, drying his hands

I smile politely,"Good sir. I wondered if you might have some broth..."

Geoffrey looked at the young woman and nodded

Of course, my lady. I have some here. It was from King's dinner. I can heat it for you, if you wish...

He smiled and took immediately a soucepan. Then he put it upon cheminy's fire and turned to her again

John was preparing dinner for Bishop Fisher and his guests. He reminded Thomas Boleyn's words and start trembling while preparing food. Other servants were helping him but he tried not to catch their attention

Once he made sure that other cooks were busy in something else, he brought his trembling hand in his poket and poured the poison in the soup

Geoffrey went in the kitchen to bring some hot milk to lady Katherina Prue. He was pouring a glass when he suddenly thought about Kate. But he removed immediately this thought from his mind and left quickly the kitchen to reach lady Prue's chamber again

Geoffrey showed her a chair and he started working at kitchen's table. When he heard Kate's name he shook nervously some eggs, necessary to make a cake

I can do everything for you, my lady. I can surely make a cake and deliver it for you. But about lady Kate...I think it's over between us. She made her choice and I respect her..
