Finally, Louis reached his quarters. Even though his eyes burned from fatigue, he could not help but smile at the room he had been provided with for his stay.

It was warmly lit by candles with his cases staked neatly in a corner; and his belongings carefully packed away.

He removed his boots, and the rest of his clothes until all her wore was his flannel shirt. He did not bother to tend the fire before rest. He wearily crawled beneath the sheets and rested his head on the down feather pillow.
