Fountain

Fernando leaves his meeting with his generals with a good feeling that the tide of the war will swing in his direction. He walks out to the fountain, his favorite place in the whole Palace. His fingers fun across the top of the water. His reflection shows a man, hardened by war....

As I see his majesty I go down to the fountain and goes into a deep curtsy majesty I wish to say thank you for what you done for me and my family

Fernando looks up to the Lady Mary and smiles, It is not a bother Lady Mary. You are a dear friend to my daughter and any friend of hers is a friend of mine. He motions for Mary to sit down next to him on the edge of the fountain.

As I raise I walk towards him with my head down and sit next to him i would have been lost without her as I continue to look down

Fernando notices that she looks quite sad. He never likes to see people like that. What is wrong?

I look up at him with pain in my eyes am in love with a man who I do not know where he is or the fact he does not love me also he does not trust me I sigh deeply the fact I carry another man's baby and I do not know if I can trust him. I look around i do not know what to do any more am sure you have bigger problems then mine

He looks to her reassuringly, You mean William? He is back here in Tuscany and has been trying to reach out to you. He even came to me looking for you.

i look up at him i been every where, all i wish to do is marry him but that is now impossible

He laughs slightly, No it is not. You will marry him tonight...

as i look at him i burnt my dress when he never showed the other day the remains are by the stream, i can not marry someone if i have no dress as tears prick my eyes

He gathers her into his arms, Just wear your best dress....

as he hugs me i do not have any thing nice but what happens if he does not turn up

As I sit by the fountain now feeling massive and still very scared of my family reaction I smile as I think about William but also for Cesare knowing that his country maybe under attacked and fear for my baby father and the titles he will lose hoping the Cesare be fine and not die.

Walking around I bend over in pain feeling a sharp pain I let out a cry hope someone hears me

I make my way to the fountain, in the direct center of the gardens. As I sit on the edge of the fountain, my fingers gently make waves in the water and my mind drifts to more happier times in my life. I smile, staring into the water.

Yes I did.... I stand up and give her a gentle hug. I was invited to stay in England for a bit by the King of England and I would like someone to accompany me. I take a deep breath, looking around then back to her, Would you like to come with me?

What future events? There is nothing for me here in Tuscany anymore... I sigh and look away. There is truly no reason why I should stick around here and be unhappy. At least I can go somewhere where there is something always going on. I look back to her, I think that my father would let us go since he is still good friends with the King of England.

I smile, Of course we would. I have spoken to him in person a few times before. He is a very sweet and kind man. I dismiss all of our ladies so that we could speak alone. My hand travels to my necklace with my wedding band on it. I look down and fiddle with it. I hope to get permission to travel into Navarre to see Madeleine on my way to England.

I couldn't do that to Henry. I still love him so much. I clear my throat. As you know, women are the pawns of men but for once in my life, I made a decision for myself and did something a Princess doesn't usually do...I was able to fall in love.
