Elizabeth walked into her chambers and she felt more heavier than before, sitting down on a chair she looked around the room and sighed, why did she have such a gentle heart? Closing her eyes she wanted nothing more than to go home, yet she knew it was cruel to strip a father from his rights.

Elizabeth paced her room, she was bored. too bored, taking out her sewing patterns she sat down and tried to entertain herself in such a womanly task, as she continued the task it brought no ease at all to her boredom, putting down the design she sighed as she sat back with both hands on her stomach "I am to see a physician soon." she called to one of her ladies whom left the room to inform the physician she brought with her.

Elizabeth walked into her chambers and she walked over to a table putting her hand on it to keep herself upright, she felt light headed..maybe it was because she didn't eat? She took a deep breath and let go off the table but she soon was to regret it as she blacked out, hitting the floor with her maids rushing over and sending for a physician.

Elizabeth sat in her chambers with both hands on her fastly growing stomach, she sighed as she stood up slowly and walked to the window. Looking out it she missed the freedom, she missed everything. Rubbing her stomach she took deep breaths as she felt movements in her stomach.

Elizabeth had been in labor for almost an hour now, she was in a loose nightshift and her hair was loose around her. Her skin was pale, as she was in pain, her petite frame shivered a little. Looking up at one of her ladies, fear was in her eyes, and she took a deep breath and waited for Edward to come so she could hurry up and get this child out of her.

I run, never stopping, clear from one side of the castle to the other to reach Elizabeth's chambers. My hair is in a wild disarray as I rush into her room. I am breathing heavy as I make my way to her side. I want nothing more than to be here to witness this miracle.

Elizabeth watched him walking him as she looked frightened and her little hands were clenching the sheets and she tilted her head back as she bit her lip at the next wave of pain that hit her throbbing body "Beth, you need to stay calm." one of the ladies said as she placed towels at her thighs for her new arrival and a cloth with cool water was being dabbed on Elizabeth's head by another lady.

I take the cool cloth from the lady and request a bowl of cold water to be placed next to me. I dip the cloth into the water, gently ringing it out and I begin to dab her face gently with the cloth. All I can do is smile as my baby shall be here soon. I lean down closer to her and whisper in her ear, I am here. I wont leave your side...

Elizabeth looked at Edward and she unclenched one of her hands from the sheets and took his free hand in it and squeezed it softly, but soon it would be more rougher than that. He was giving her hope, she felt another wave of pain go throughout her and she clenched up again squeezing on his hand hard and the lady went over between her thighs to check if she was ready or not and she nodded "Beth, when you feel the next contraction i want you to push as hard as you can." the woman said and a flicker of fear passed in Elizabeths eyes and she nodded, as as she was told, when the next contraction went throughout her she began to push with all her tiny body could.

As she squeezes my hand, I swear she breaks a few fingers in the process but I show no pain, just wincing . My fingers run through her hair. I attempt to keep her calm as I do not understand what she feels.

Elizabeth shifted a little and as soon as the next contraction hit her she pushed again her tiny frame trembling as she pushed with all her mite, she continued the process for what it seemed like ages "The child is crowning." she lady called, she couldn't process what it meant though she understood that it was near over, pushing again she felt something slide out of her and onto the towels that were at the bottom of her and her pressured stomach eased down, the midwife took the child, cutting the chord and washed it and put it in blankets before walking over to Edward "Your wi-...The Marquess has given birth to a healthy baby girl."

I lean down and kiss her softly, smiling, laughing, crying all at once. I hear our daughter crying a most hearty cry...

Elizabeth sat up as she was cleaned up, she watched with pride filling her pale features "May i hold her?" she asked in a simple whisper, as pillows were propped up behind her and the ladies bowed, but Elizabeth said her thanks, and the ladies left the room and she turned her head back to Edward.

I look to Elizabeth and our daughter and I just simply smile. Joy fills my heart at the sight of the beautiful miracle. She wraps her little hand around my finger....What shall we name her?

Elizabeth thought for a moment "I already said we were calling her Mary." she said simply and she took a deep breath "Little Mary Stuart." she blinked a few times looking at the child and she smiled her eyes filling with tears of joy and happiness.

She looks just like a Stuart. May I hold her? I hold out my arms and gently take my daughter into my arms. I stand up slowly and begin to walk about the room with her. I begin to sing a song to Mary that my own mother used to sing to me.

Elizabeth tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she watched Edward and she frowned a little "If you are to keep my daughter here, then i must stay here too." she whispered softly almost in defeat "For i would not have her grow up without you."

Casper had arrived in Scotland and had been greeted by a blanket of snow covering the land. Nothing burns like cold, he thought to himself as he dismounted his horse and padded into the heart of the castle.

He could feel the throb of heat coming from the kitchen but he was absent of hunger. Instead he headed straight for his old friend's chamber.
It had been an age since he had seen her. He had completed his education in France and so the return home was welcomed.

He arrived and rapped gentle at her door, adjusting his heavy and warm cloak.

Elizabeth heard a knock on the door and her gaze broke off Edward and towards the door "Come in." she said quietly and she gulped a little and when the door opened and Casper walked in a smile came onto her face "Casper!" she almost shouted as she sat up properly on the bed her face had lit up since Casper came in.

Casper chuckled and pulled off his hat,"Dear God-how you have grown!"he chimed and walked contentedly towards her.

He glanced at the bundle in a strange mans arms and paused, he then noticed the weariness in Elizabeth's eyes,"You...you are a mother now? How did I not here of this?"

Elizabeth smiled at him and took a deep breath "I have simply grown so much because you have been away longer than i ever imagined." she said and she tilted her head then looked at Edward and Mary and then at Casper "This is my previous husband, Edward, and this is my daughter Mary Stuart, Edwards and i marriage was annulled, so it didn't feel right to spread the news."

Casper frowned and perched on the edge of her warm bed and touched her forehead,"Why was it annulled?"he whispered.

Elizabeth looked at Edward then at him and heart break was apparent in her eyes but she took a deep breath again "He was pre contracted to another." she whispered so only Casper could hear.
