Anne Bassett's bedchamber

There are some news, yes.

She said with a bright smile and the slight blush appeared on her cheeks.

Curious about what?

Anne saw the blush on her cheeks and smiled.

"You must be in love. Congratulations. Who is the lucky man?"

She drank wine and made a straight face. Then she laughed heartily.

"And I confess- I'm a little curious."

Catherine slowly pulled her hand back, and tried to hide her blush, and smiled joyfully.

Oh, Anne! The lucky man is Thomas Seymour.

She said with bright smile as she thought of him.

Anne smiled because she was surprised.

"Really? I congratulate you. Which is he? I only know about him, that he's a brother of Jane Seymour."

She was really glad to hear it.

Catherine smiled her eyes sparkled bright.

He's most charming, loving man. A true prince charming the all ladies dream about.

She said in soft, dreamy voice.

Anne had to smile.

"I'm very happy for you. I wish you good luck."

She lowered her voice.

"I remember that a lot of ladies talking about him that he's a beautiful man. I believe that you will be happy with him."

Thank you. You're such dear friend.

She said sincerely, and frown knowing what kind of gossip Anne must have heard.

They were right about that. He's very handsome and charming.

"Not at all, dear Catherine. I'm really happy for you. It's nice to hear that you're happy."

Anne smiled and thought her words seriously. Love is such a beautiful feeling, although sometimes hurts.

"I have to tell you that you're very beautiful when you're in love. It seems to me that the more you smiling."

What about you? Is there any lucky gentleman who stole your heart?

She asked in friendly, warm voice. Then giggled shyly at Anne's compliment.

Thank you. He's a reason why I'm smiling. He makes me so much happy. It's like I'm in new, different and better world.

Anne remembered at the man she loved for a long time. She smiled.

"Walter is still in Calais. I loved him for a long time and then I went to England. And at court I wasn't in love."

She shrugged.

"It's very nice to hear. I hope that he's good to you?"

She said teasingly.

She listened to Anne, then asked curiously,

Do you plan on seeing him again?

She laughed a little at her  teasing words.

He treats me like a goddess.

Catherine replied with a grin.

She sighed.

"I don't know, but I'd like to see him again. But unfortunately I don't know where I'm going to Calais again."

She grinned.

"This is so beautiful! He is so nice. At court nobody knows it about him. But I heard that he is a gentleman."

Maybe you can go in few days just to see him. Why don't you write him a letter?

She asked, trying to help her.

They all thin so wrongly about him, and he's not a man they paint him to be. He's so much more.

Anne smiled.

"This is an absolutely brilliant idea. Thank you. It never occurred to me."

Anne nodded.

"You know him from the other side than others. You know him as a loving man. Courtiers are just evil and envious. You know them."

I'm glad to be of help.

She said friendly with a smile gracing her lips.

Yes I do know them. It's so strange how much they can be envious. But you never told me what is Walter like?

Anne smiled. Her memories on him was still pleasant.

"He was always so kind and attentive. The best of all, that he have a wonderful sense of humor. Hopefully, that he hasn't changed and is still the same."

She remembered to different experiences with him.

"We had a few nice moments together. For example we climbed to the willow and the whole day just talking. Nobody could find us. My mother told me that she was worried about me."

Catherine smiled and listen as Anne spoke about the man she liked.

He sounds like a keeper, a true prince charming.

She said with warm smile.

That moments are to cherish, you definitely need to write him a letter. Just speaking about him I can see how much you love him still, your eyes sparkle and you have that dreamy smile upon your face.

Anne smiled, because Cathrine was telling the truth. She still thought of him.

"I always imagined him as prince charming. You're right, I've never forgotten for him. I don't know where to write to him. She often traveled and I believe that this lifestyle he hasn't changed."

She took a breath.

"But when we said goodbye, he promised me, that he arrives in England. I believe that he will fulfill this promise."

Cathrine listened carefully, then thought for a moment before she said,

I think he's perfect for you. He matches your spirit. Maybe you should send a letter to his home. He shall probably go back there when he finishes his travels.

She suggested as she took a sip from her goblet.

If he cares about you, he'll keep his promise.

She nodded softly.

"I don't know anything about him, but you're right. He definitely will return to home."

She gave to Catherine a warm smile.

"Thank you so much for your advice. If you weren't here, I probably wouldn't know what to do. I believe that he'll keep his promise."

Catherine smiled and softly touched Anne's hand in a friendly gesture.

That's what friends are for!  And I'm glad to be of any help to you.

She said in sincere voice

Anne smiled at Catherine's gesture.

"Thank you very much. That's right. I'm glad to have you as a close friend."

She knew that such friendship is rare and very much appreciated Catherine.

She smiled back, feeling very fortunate to have a friend like Catherine.

I'm glad of it, too.

She said in honesty, and then remembered she forgot to tell the most important thing to her friend.

I forgot to tell you, Thomas has asked me to marry him. And he wishes me to meet his family at his sisters wedding. I feel so nervous.

Anne brightened. That was great news.

"Congratulations. This is like a dream."

Anne stood up from the chair that Catherine could embrace.

"Seymour's are very nice people. Oh, Catherine, I'm so happy for you. I wish you both good luck."

The dream i don't wish to be awaken of.

She said with a bright smile, feeling joy to see someone to be happy for her.

Thank you, Anne!

She hugged Anne back. Anne was like a sister to her, and now when she told her she knew it was real, and soon she'd be a wife.
