Thomas Culpepper, Page Master for King Henry of England had been chosen to deliver a message to Queen Mary of Scotland and had to travel there to deliver it personally. Thomas knew a little of the Queen of Scotland but knew she was fairly young and still a teenager but very beautiful but he had never had the pleasure of meeting her.  This message was of vital importance as it involved her betrothal to the French King's heir Francis. Thomas knew not what the message read but he had to deliver it and read it to her upon his arrival.

Thomas travelled the distance from Hampton court all the way to Scotland by escorted horse back and arrived some time mid afternoon at the Palace and was immediately announced and the searcg to find the young Queen began as Thomas awaited.

Thomas was taken by a courtier to the Queen's chambers and announced to her as he entered the chambers and waited as he heard, a young voice asking him to wait and she will be there soon. A couple of the Queen's ladies came in and smiled to Thomas and introduced themselves as Lady Kenna and Lady Lola. He bowed to them and greeted the with a handsome smile.

The young Queen Mary entered and Thomas looked up almost hypnotised at this young Queen, her long dark hair a flow, she stood tall and regal for a young girl of her age as they stood gazing at one another as Thomas noticed the equally young ladies giggling continuously. Thomas almost forgot to bow which he did and pulled out the message he had to read to her.
'I have no idea what this message relays Your Majesty as I have been ordered not to read it until my audience with you,' Thomas opened the letter and looked at the message and had a rye smile upon his face. 'Your Majesty forgive me,' Thomas said.
