After a long travel to reach his parents Diego rested on his bed. His heart was racing the past months had not been easy running around after an Emperor who's demands grew even more crazier by the day was starting to take it's toll. Going to the window Diego opened it realizing that the night air was hot and stuffy a thunderstorm ahead most probably.

As Inigo heard that his son Diego was at court, he went immediately to his room to see him. He didn't saw him since long time. So he wondered if he was changed. He knocked at his door

Diego..allí están, mi hijo? Yo soy tu padre..

He said with happy voice

Diego was resting his head reading through his papers as he heard that voice which brought him back to his childhood. Dropping the papers onto the bed he ran his fingers through his dark locks and opened up the door. Diego embraced his farther with a hug and a kiss on either side of his cheek.

Farther it has been a long time since I have seen you. Are you in good health. Please come in I have brought back the finest Spanish wine.

Inigo hugged back his son smiling happily. He took his face in his hands to see him better

Diego..my son! I missed you so much! Let me look at you..Oh..you're a man, my son. I'm in good health, with God's help..yes. And also your mother. But tell me..how are you?

He asked stepping into room still not realizing that his beloved son was back

Diego remembered the first time his Farther took his face within his hands it filled him with love a thing that most men do not say to each other.

Farther I always feel like a little boy sitting on your knee looking up to you in admiration whenever you take my face in your hands. I can see that you are very well Farther this makes me very happy to know my parents love each other. You will be pleased to know that I am not a womanizer! I am however dedicated to my job more than women.

Oh I'm happy you are not, my son! Much better waiting for the right woman. Like I did with your mother. And true love will come. But..why are you telling me this, son? Is there someone who caught your eyes?

He asked curiously

Diego laughed he wasn't ready to settle down and women only caused agro.

No their is no lady in my life, I am not ready for such as commitment. Merely I was just letting you know just incase you wanted to match me off to someone.

Diego offered his Farther a drink pouring him one just incase. Now was time to talk about Emperor Charles and his lastest antics.

Farther, how much does mother know of what is going on in Spain? I know she will worry about me when I go back out.

Your mother knows about Charles's behavior towards his mother, my son. As you know, Queen Joanna is confined into Royal Convent of Santa Clara. I wrote to him but I received no reply. We hoped you could bring us some good news. And yes..we're a bit worried. But we also trust you, Diego..

That was the last thing he wanted was his mother to know more than she should Diego knew she would worry.

Ah papa it is bad. He pays his madre no attention not even a letter. It's the money I worry about it will run out soon enough for her.

Diego felt very helpless for queen Joanna he could not ask help from this kingdom the emperor would stripe him of all his titles. And the shame it would bring on his parents.

We cannot receive any help from the king of this realm it would cause more trouble than needed. I would like to install more windows in her nunnery let in the light.

What do you sugggest then, my son? Only few people have access at her nunnery. I talked with one of her ladies in waiting. She said that the Queen can hardly receive letters. Exactly the same fate of her sister Katherine in England. But don't worry about your mother. She is happy and in good health..

He added smiling

Diego was not to sure what to do either.

Papa, I need to show my support to queen Joanna secretly. If the Emperor knew then I would lose my position. My brothers and I grew up alongside Charles. His mother has better lodgings than that of Queen Katherine.

Diego looked at his papa with eyebrows raised.

And tell me what of the future Empress? All the Spanish seem to be flocking here.

You're right, my son. You shouldn't be involved in this. It could be dangerous. That's why you must act with discretion, Diego. I'm taking care about the matter. And I'm also planning to go to Spain to visit Queen Joanna. But..if I would bring you with me, your intentions would be clear to Emperor. So don't worry, I'll bring her your letters secretely..

For a moment he wondered who he meant for future Empress

Uhm..future Empress, you say? Bueno..do you mean Princess Isabella of Portugal, my son?

Diego sat back satisfied he and his papa were both thinking the same thing.

Alas dear papa I am already involved but not on a wider scale. No I think it shall do you good papa to visit Spain. My other siblings shall be happy to see you too.

Diego was nervous talking about this subject as he did not know what Isabella had been up to here.

Yes if Charles has his own way he wants her as his Empress. She publicly humiliated him once rejecting his hand of marriage to reject him twice will not suffice. I hope that he will not try to gain her power only to lock her up in an nunnery.

You're right, my son. You know, I always worry about your safety. And since you're already involved in this matter, I would prefer you to stay here waiting for me. If you insist, I shall bring you with me. But only at one condition, Diego: be careful and don't talk with anyone about the Queen and Emperor Charles. Neither in public..neither in private..

He smiled as he rubbed softly his arm

The Princess was destinated to marry Charles since long time, my son. She rejected him..and this surely humiliated him. But now the Princess has her own life here in Bavaria. Even a son..So, I honestly don't know if she could still be his Empress..
