Great hall

Frederick walked her into the great hall and there was a feast that was awaiting his presence to begin. With Sophia on his arm he walked in and he smiled at his guests as he led her to his table and watched her be seated before standing up "People, I am happy to announce that we have a guest in our Presence, Sophia of Pomeria." he said to them "I am sure that I am not the only one who will make her feel warm and welcome in Denmark...But for now, please, let the feast commence." he said before sitting down and the music began playing.

As they entered the hall, Sophie took in all of the peoples faces. Their were many people here dressed in their finest attire was one of them to be her husband? Seating herself the kings voice made her halt she wasn't that important to be announced before the entire court. Graciously she smiled back to those who glanced over at her before pulling out her fan.

The feast commenced and he looked at her and he smiled "I am happy to let you know that I will have you here as my most valued guest." he said and he called over a servant to pour them both a goblet of win.

You need not go to so much trouble I am merely a Duchess nothing special. Sophie shrugged simply as she took a small goblet of wine. She sipped sweetly moving her fan slightly. My stay here will be rather surprising I think. I know all of my life that I have to marry a man in Denmark to whom it is not known. I am a political piece in my farthers games.

Frederick raised an eyebrow and he looked at her "Is that so?" he asked her and he gulped a little "We are all political pieces...and this is even coming from a King." he admitted to her and sat back "Look at how they all want to please me, to get higher in this court..how they look at me."

Sophie tilted her head looking at all the people dancing and making merry before them. That is the act for desperate men wanting their daughters to aim higher I guess. If you snared them up into you're bed then they automatically assume they are on the rise. Taking a few more sips of her wine she sank her teeth into a plump plum. My father is Bogislaw X the great.

He looked at her and he nodded "I know who your father is." he said to her and he smiled before looking out at the people "I will snare the people up, whos are for me..and those who are against me." he mumbled and he took a gulp from his wine and he looked at her "So, what is your business here?"

Marriage is why I am here. She sighed placing the goblet down. I am contracted to be a second wife to some Danish man. Who shall probably be am old man who doesn't appreciate me. I would rather have a young husband so I may feel his lust for life within me not that of a few breathless grunts.

Frederick laughed at her words, and it wasn't often he laughed and it even surprised some of his courtiers "Is that so?" he asked her and he looked at her "Shall I find you a husband? One of a fit stance, who will be able to provide a suitable dowry and is lusting after life?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow "This is Denmark, not England or France..there isn't much of that here."

Sophie laughed for it seemed this king had a sense of humour. I think you have more important things to do. Besides what would I do with a dowry?

Frederick shrugged a little "Buy pretty dresses and own lands?" he asked her and he looked out at his courtiers "That is what most women would do." he mumbled and he then looked back at her "I have a country to rule yes, but I am actually not all that busy."

I have always wanted to own my private cottage. Somewhere I could escape and be free. Sophie smiled as her eye's intently gazed upon his face. You are different from other kings though. You actually kill on the battlefield. It thrilled Sophie to know this about Frederick it made her body tingle with excitement.

A smirk lit up Frederick's face at her words and he nodded "Indeed." he said to her and he looked at her "Many King's are afraid to even touch battle field soil incase they are killed, as for me, it is all or nothing." he said to him and he shrugged "It is easy to sit and command an army from afar, but far more pleasing to do it whilst you are fighting along side them."

Would you say that your sword has seen plenty of battle then. Sophie asked with a hint of mischeviousness in her words. Normally she would be frightened to be left alone with a man. Have you ever killed a man with your bare hands? Only a real king fights in battle. She added proudly to him continuing to eat her fruit. I think a little cottage in the Danish countryside would suit me fine.

Frederick nodded at her and he smiled "I have indeed killed a man with my bare hands." he said to her and he looked at her before looking at his courtiers "I have been in battles as well, I have scars to prove it." he cleared his throat before laughing "I have a little cottage in the countryside, for personal use of course."

What was it like to have all that power in your hands. I felt a little flutter within at the thought of him with all that power. It was an awakening to a whole new world of senses that I desperately wanted to discover. It is very far from court.

He looked at her and he smiled "It is a great deal pleasing." he admitted to her "I have worked hard for where I am today." he said to her and he then looked at his courtiers and he nodded "It is far from court indeed, but it is comforting at times to be far from court."
