I had everything prepared for tonight's little occasion. It was low key and on a need to know bases. What little servants and one cook Joanna had were all in attendance. Spices had been brought in from the foreign lands and the tent smelled of all wonderful heavenly delights waited to be tasted. But the main attraction was something forbidden in these parts of the lands and I took great pride in knowing I had securely gotten some for Joanna to sample.

Dressed in a loose, flowing gown of deep emerald green, I walked out to the tent where I was supposed to meet with Sienna. Upon entering, my senses were tantalized with the rich aroma of decadent spices. Smiling, I clasped Sienna's hand in mine. "All this for me? I'm impressed beyond words!"

I waved a hand dismissively it was no trouble for me to do all of this for her, at least it would be a different change of scenery. I gestured to a beautiful pile of cushions made from Indian silk. They were bright gold, full of sequins and intricate details trimmed along the outside. It is the closet we can get to a far away foreign country! I was thinking that we could do this regularly as it is only your sons money. In silver cups shaped like an oval was a chilled sorbet made to drink on humid nights such as this. A palate cleanser for us to use so the different spices we would taste wouldn't mingle together on our tongues.

I had to smirk at her words, but I was happy nonetheless. The exotic air really made me feel I was in a different place and time altogether. "It reminds me of the Alhambra palace. The Moors had such exotic, sinfully pleasurable comforts." I laid among the pillows and truly it felt like air. "Come sit. And we must try this delicious looking refreshment."

Alhambra palace. The name was foreign and sounded very peculiar being said on my French- English accent. The very name of it sounded exotic with many shenanigans going on inside the palace only to be forgotten about come the morning. If walls could talk think of thd history they would speak of. Has your majesty ever been to an exotic place. I passed her a drink sitting not far from her feet a sign of obedience to her.

I took the drink and marveled at the cool sweetness running down my throat. If I'd been in the desert a thousand days, surely one sip would cure my thirst! "The whole of Al-Andalus was like a foreign country, at least compared to other kingdoms I've lived in. It was as close to the East as one could be. But we Infantas were very sheltered and didn't get to see much of the exotic beauty beyond our palace walls."

Sounds rather marvelous to me. The piece of Turkish delight slipped into my mouth as softly like a rose petal sliding down the skin. I looked at the Queen wondering if anyone had ever tried to calm her erratic moods. I personally had never seen them to me they were more a myth than reality. I wished to know more of her past and why exactly people labelled her as mad. But it was thin ice to walk on.
