Versailles Spring garden

I decided to take one of the Queen's horses out for a stride. I see a lady with the hair color of golden sand "Bonjour mademoiselle."

I had been feeling pretty alone at the French court. I heard the sound of horses hooves coming close by and looked around. Seeing the horse I burst into laughter I had never seen a horse in these parts of the garden before. "Hello my lady, what a beautiful horse you have." I approached them closely running a smooth hand over the horse. "I'm Diane."

"The name is Juliette." I said as I jumped down to properly greet her "It's not my horse but, I often wish she was mine." I said as I looked up and smile at the peach colored horse "I have heard your name around court but, haven't seen you."

What I liked most about this lady was her confidence. No one had greeted me this way before and only Juliette could pull this of. "Pleasure to meet you, you have a beautiful name." I froze for just a second, taking in a deep breath. "You've heard of me prey do tell me more. I haven't heard your name so you must be a lovely person."

"Her Majesty often tells us about her day and your name happened to spill out her lips." I feed the horse some oats from the pocket of my cloak "She rarely talks about her ladies behind their back, so I thought you are in some high status."

"Queen Claude? I have not seen her around court recently is she well Juliette." Most of the ladies in waiting to Claude were rather old, I was glad to of met Juliette today. "My father served the king many times and my mother used to be lady in waiting to his mother Louise of Savoy. Now my mother has passed my father rarely visits court. He is haunted by the happy memories they once shared here. Do you have any family here with you Juilette." She was a very young girl kinda like a sister I wished I had.

"Oui." I tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear "Some ladies are older than I. few of them were her mother's and some of them were her first when she became Queen." I often pray to God to look over her and make sure she is well. "I had a brother and a sister but, they were married off and they now have a place of their own. Do you have sisters?"

"Sadly no, I have no sisters which is a pity. Their was a local peasant girl who would keep me company." Not many ladies in waiting were loyal to queens. They always tried to be a mistress but at least Juliet was nice. "Do you get many days off Juliet? I ask because they have a lovely spring fair coming up soon and I think you will like it."

"A spring fair? I have always wanted to go." I light up as she speaks of it "But, I never got to go because it was raining or my sisters and I had to study for a lesson." Papa always kept us distracted with education and books "Do tell me more."

I felt sorry that sweet Juliette did not get to go to many events. "It's a fair to welcome in the spring. Their is also dancing women have floral crowns upon their heads. All the flowers are georgous pastel colors as well as the fabric."

"I would love to go." I do need a real taste of real fun "Have you been to the spring fair?"

I clasped Juliettes' hand not wanting to hide the excitement in my eye's. "I won't let us fall in any untoward behaviour I promise! Yes my grandmother used to let me go as she used to like her sugar barley. But it shall be more fun going with you."

I could imagine the ladies and gentleman of the court dressed in beautiful spring colored fabric having a gay time "And I you." I said as I thought about the chances of meeting a gentleman like my father wants me to.

"Great! Then we shall have the merriest of times together." Juliette was the most loveliest of ladies in waiting to Claude. I knew that this was someone she could trust as a dear friend. "I shall be wearing white a tradition my grandmother passed down. Would you like to borrow a dress.. you don't have to."

"I believe that I had made a dress that is a pretty shade of blue for an occasion." I pray that it will fit me this time. "If it doesn't fit well, I shall notify you."

"Thank you sir."She said softly to him.

"It is beautiful. I will miss it when I have to go back to England."She said softly.

"Can be a bit lonely but it alright. Sometimes I wish to run away from it all."She said softly.

"My family but they want what is best for me."She said softly to him.
