Your Majesty my grandfather is ill and he has no male heirs to take his place. But is wants what is best for his clan before he gets worse. I know in the eyes of the law I have no say but if my father is not to show and my grandfather is too ill to travel what choice is there?"She asked with a worried look about her for her clan.

James shrugged and glanced absent mindedly across the river, "It's hardly easy to reach Scotland, mistress-as you will well know. Taking a week to reach our land even from the border is not unusual."

He added with a smirk, "And I believe that is more than one question. If you'll excuse me."

He turned his back on her, after bowing his head. His friend beside him whispered in his ear and the pair chuckled as the walked on.
