After my coronation was over, and what a splendid day it was to be crowned queen. Their was a gathering to celebrate the joyous events of the day. The king and queen of France were their alomg with their grandaughter. The food was French as was the wine with a harpist sitting in the corner playing merry soft tunes to soothe us into the night. The windows had their shutters pinned back so we could all witness the fireworks being set of in my honor later that night.

I walked into the room and admired all the golden tapestries on the wall they were magnificent , I glanced over at the table where the feast was layed out and I could see all of our favourite foods, I smiled to myself the King and Queen of Scotland have made us feel very welcome in their kingdom. I took my seat and waited for my family to arrive and listened to the softly played music.

I curtsied before her as the servant held my seat out for me to sit on. This is all very nice and cosy are you enjoying your time away from court.

He was coming but King James wanted to speak with him. I said hoping my grandmother wouldn't have to wait too long for her husband to come and enjoy himself. I enjoyed spending time with her I took a sip of my highland spring water as I glanced over to Mary. I think this is a lovely castle and when we go back to france I hope we can spend time together.

After James had finished speaking with him. Françis came and found his wife he took her hand tenderly and placed a soft kiss on it. He seated himself between his grandaughter and wife trying to relax and enjoy this festive night. My dears, you both look lovely tonight. Claude you are my twinkling jewel in the sky.

James was announced into the hall, his crown still upon his head and a smile upon his lips. He was greeted by court - all of whom were dressed in their finest gowns and robes, spilling about them in rich puddles of silk and velvet as they bowed respectfully.

His band were already in the hall, playing one of his favourite tunes - Passemeze, the only thing not French in the hall. Indeed, if it were not for the smell of whiskey and accents of the courtiers - one may easily think themselves in the French court. James admired the grace of the French monarchs as he walked past them, tall and confident. He bowing his head in kindness and with familiarity their positions allowed. He collected a goblet of wine as he approached his throne, while Mary caught his gaze from afar.

Isabelle arrived in Scotland to attend Mary's coronation. She was late. But she was told that the great banquet to celebrate the new Queen already started. So she entered in the Hall and walked smiling among tables. As she arrived in front of the royal table, she curtsied before King James and Queen Mary

Your Majesties..may God grant you both a long and prosperous reign..

Mary looked beautiful and happy. Turning her eyes she noticed King Francis was there too. She smiled secretely at him before reaching her table

Royce joined the celebrations for Queen Mary's coronation with his wife Mary Rose at his side. They walked until their table and bowed before the royal couple. James looked happy and proud of his wife. He glanced smiling at Mary Rose and took their places in the banquet Hall

"I am glad that I was never made to marry a king. I do not think that I would make a good Queen."

I whispered to Royce as I slowly led him to a table. It was nice to spend sometime with him and to see the Scottish court so full for a change.

You came. I called out to Isabelle as I made my way across to her. She was a diamond in a crown who always brought a breath of fresh air wherever she went or whomever she met. Nobody knew the significant importance Isabelle had in my life. Perhaps James had tried to understand exactly how important she was to me. I have missed you come and meet James I know he would like to meet you. I smiled as I found James my smile much more brighter and happier.

James grinned across the hall at his friend Royce, nodding his head respectfully to his wife who glided to his side. Despite the fact he had an English bride, James could see the warmth in both their eyes, they conveyed affection with one another even in such a bustling crowd. Indeed, Mary had given Royce two healthy boys and so James was satisfied of his good friend's happiness.

He was sipping on his wine when he noticed a woman enter the hall, in French dress but once Mary scuttled to her side - he knew she must be Isabelle. He walked tentatively from his throne, lingering a little away from Mary but sharing her smile. She shone - truly, he noticed as he waited to be introduced.

How could I miss it, dear Mary. I'm very happy and proud of you. You look stunning. And you'll be the most graceful and beautiful Queen Scotland ever had..

As Mary leaded her towards the throne she curtsied before King James. He looked younger than she thought. Also, he was good looking and he seemed deeply in love with Mary

Royce was holding her hand and leaded her at their table

Why do you say that, my love? You have royal blood. Your own brother is King. And if I was King myself..you would be a gorgeous Queen, trust me. And after all..you already are. You're Queen of my heart..

He whispered softly before sitting with her. He took her hand and kissed it deeply

I smiled with great gratitude at my grandmother. I had not very good relationship with my mother so it was nice to have my grandmother to turn to should I ever need advice. I am so glad to hear that maybe you could help me with the interior design of my bedchamber. Tis rather depressing to sleep in a darkened room. I began to slice thin slices of my pheasant dipping it into the orange sauce that had been provided.

They look very happy. James deserves that. He was looking for a suitable wife since long time. And Mary looks perfect for him. Don't you agree, my love?

He asked, holding softly Mary Rose's hand

I smiled and reached for marguerite's hand. We shall look at colors and styles, I have heard about some beautiful hand carved oak panels that will look perfect in your room and they come all the way from Italy. I was excited now I have my daughter and my grandaughter back at court now all felt well again.

It was in this moment that I knew how much I had missed Isabelle. Whatever my mother lacked she always made up for it. It was a very important moment for James and her to meet they both played important parts of my life. I looked from one to another a permanent happy smile on my lips as they made pleasantries.

I looked over to them both as I stroked my husband's hand.

I adverted my eye's back to Royce.

How do you think she shall fare? Francis whispered into his wife's ear as he took his seat. He noticed that Isabelle was here. Reassuringly he took Claudes' hand as in his mind he started to think about the English visit which loomed so near. How angry is Madeline that I denied her of all this.

My husband could never make me sad even though I was going through some challenging thoughts right now. Were my children to be brought up at the English court. Or would they be raised in Scotland. In times like these I drew inspiration from my mother a regal queen who was very much respected. It was her little sentiments that had made her so charming.

'I naturally feel sad husband. What with all the celebrations taking place I feel lost. '
