Queen Anne's bedchamber

Margaret knocked at the door. She was bringing breakfast since it was early in the morning. She opened the door and curtsied deeply. Anne was still in her bed. She put food on the table and she opened the window "Good morning, Your Majesty. Have you slept well?" She smiled

I woke up as the curtains were opened in my room. I saw Margaret there with the breakfast already prepared.

"Good morning Margaret, I did sleep well thank you. What is the breakfast this morning?

Margaret looked at Anne and smiled "I brought you tea and eggs, Your Majesty. Also, some bread and vegetables as you like. If you prefer something else, just let me know.." She said after curtsing

Margaret smiled "Oh it has been lovely, Your Majesty. I met the King of Sweden himself. He is very kind..and also very handsome. I have been treated with kindness and respect. King Gustav sends you his regards. I also learned a bit of swedish language.." She said while pouring tea and serving eggs and bread to Anne

I sat up in my bed as Margaret poured the tea.

"I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Sweden Margaret. To meet the King himself must have been such an honour for you also. I can imagine that Swedish, was it hard to learn?

Margaret nodded with a smile "Just a bit, Your Majesty. But the King gave me a very good teacher. So I could learn some words and sentences. Such as: Kungen är vert snäll och stilig. It means that the King is very kind and handsome. But I have to improve my pronunciation, of course.." She shook her head smiling

I smiled at Margaret.

"I think that was very good Margaret, but then I would not necessarily know myself for I do not know Swedish. Is there any news from this morning Margaret? Can you see if my yellow gown has returned from the tailor yet?

Margaret nodded "Yes, Your Majesty. Your gown is ready. I'll bring it to you later. Do you wish to wear it today? Or is there a special occasion?" She asked while preparing things for Queen's toelette

Margaret nodded "As you wish, Your Majesty. I heard that the Duke of Suffolk is back to court. Is that true?" She asked while preparing her pink gown

I looked at Margaret when she mentioned the Duke of Suffolk.

"Indeed he is. I have requested an audience with him too, for I have noticed he has been very evasive and seems to avoid me at court.

Margaret nodded "Yes, I heard that, Your Majesty. But he is very loyal to King. So he must be loyal to you as well, Your Majesty. I think he just wants the King to be happy. He even named his son after him.."

Margaret sat on the bed after taking a paper. She started reading it "After your walk in the garden, you'll have lunch with the King, Your Majesty. In the afternoon you'll receice some people who wants to see you, and then you'll have a tea with all your ladies, for reading and sewing. In the evening you'll see the Princess and you'll have dinner with scottish ambassador.."

I looked up at Margaret as she read the letters.

"The Scottish Ambassador is coming to speak with me today? That is a surprise I did not expect. Margaret, can you get the ladies to help me dress for the day. I would like to wear the pink today.

After the Queen finished her breakfast, Margaret opened the door and gestured two ladies to come in, to help Anne dressing up for the day "As you wish, Your Majesty. Your dress is ready. And also your jewels. And yes...I heard the abassador will arrive today to meet you, Your Majesty. Do you wish to wear your tiara this evening? She sked while the other ladies were helping Anne with her pink dress

I looked at Margaret as she showed me the tiara.

"Margaret, I would very much like to wear my tiara this evening and has my pearl necklace been cleaned as I requested?

Margaret nodded "As you wish, Your Majesty. Is there something else you need before I leave?"
