Charlotte thought her heart would burst with joy. She wanted to bottle this moment so that it would last for eternity, but she already knew she would never forget this day. "I had never imagined, even when we first met, that you and I would create something so wonderful. He is perfect in every way." She remembered the servant who had come in earlier. "There was a message from the king, did you receive it? What did it say?" She was curious to see if they had been pardoned and welcome back to court yet.

I looked up from the child at the sound of Charlotte's voice "Oh yes, his majesty says my banishment is over and we are all welcome back to court. He wishes to see me as soon as possible." I said not wanting to leave them behind but I knew I had to.

She smiled and gently stroked the baby's soft fair hair."Oh, well that is good news, isn't it? I know you've missed court terribly, as have I. I wonder if it has changed much since we have been gone.. and we will of course bring Lady Mionetta with us." She looked at Anthony. "Must you go so soon? I would hope we could return to court like a family, but I suppose he bids you to come as soon as you can."

I sighed and handed the baby back to her, "I wish we could but you know when Harry summons me I must leave at once. And you need to recover I don't want you traveling before it is necessary." I laid with my family awhile longer before I had to leave. "When you arrive at Whitehall a nursery and chambers will be ready for you, and for the lady Rizzio as well"

She nodded, accepting what must be. "Then I wish you a safe journey, my love. And when next we meet it will be a most joyous reunion." She gently took little Henry from him, smiling as she heard his little sigh and start to fall asleep. "I will rest as long as I need to, no doubt there will be much to do when we return to Whitehall."

I felt an ache in my heart as I didn't want to leave them but I knew when Henry called I must go. I got up and her lips gently, then kissed my boys head. "We have much to make up for my love" I said smiling widely. "I shall wait anxiously for your arrival."

She nodded, returning his smile. "Godspeed on your journey, dear husband. We will be together soon, and begin our new life together." Her heart felt heavy at the thought of being without him, but she would survive. "I love you.."

Letter from MIonetta to Charlotte Knivert:
Dear Mrs. Knivert, Yes, certainly, my lady. I can easily get my things together and say my farewells. I have earned enough money to help pay my way so that I may not be a burden. And though my job is to take care of your new baby boy, I must confess that I am most excited to venture to the English Court, and perhaps sing there as well.
