Riding Alone

Anne was riding through the forest on her white mare, she was in a light crimson riding outfit as she rode through the trees. Looking around she saw a figure and stopped and held the reins of her horse "My Lord?" She asked with an raised eyebrow.

Edward ploughed through the forest as his horse's hooves battered on the soggy grass. The wind whistling in his ears, he finally felt free from the constraints of court.
As the palace could no longer be seen or heard and the only noise was the rustling of leaves Edward slowed his horse to a canter.

As he did so he noted a figure a little while from him, he urged his horse forward and rode skilfully to the woman. He raised his chin as he looked at her,"Good morrow, my lady,"he said in his deep voice and gave her a bow.

Anne looked at the man and smiled "Good Morrow" she said with a smile "How fare you?" she asked as her mare snorted at his horse and she bit her bottom lip a little.

Edward smiled and replied politely,"I am well, my lady. How may you be?"

He patted his horse on the side as it neighed impatiently and glanced at her. She was new and she was also very beautiful. There was an ethereal charm to her...

Anne smiled and nodded "I am well indeed, My Lord" she said with a small smile and she looked at his horse "It seems he is rather..impatient" she said as she slid of her horse gracefully "What is his or her name?" she asked.

"She is called Barbary...a fine horse,"he then glanced up,"May I know your name?"

Anne smiled and she looked at the horse "Sorry, She" she said and she looked at the man and nodded "My name is Anne Brett, may i know yours?"

Edward laughed heartily,"You must not apologise, Lady Brett. I am Edward Craven,"the horse spurred a little,"You must forgive my horse though...would you care to come riding with me?"

Anne nodded with a smile "Of course i would, My Lord" she said and she climbed back upon her horse gracefully and looked at him "First one to the center of the forest wins" she said with a smile and she urged her horse onwards and galloped through the trees.

Edward laughed and circled round her on his horse. Taking her hand gently and bringing it to his lips,"I accept the challenge, Lady Brett,"he planted a kissed on her soft flesh and then let out a cry for his horse to ride on.

Anne galloped through the forest and when she reached the center she noticed he had won "You win, My Lord" she said simply with a smile "What do you wish for your prize?" she asked with a smile.

Edward laughed and shrugged,"A prize? Why my lady Brett-your company is prize enough."

Edward then dismounted his horse easily and walked over to hers. He offered his hand for her to come down.

Anne smiled and blushed and took his hand and slid down off the horse gracefully "Please..call me Anne"
