Royce stopped suddenly as he heard the female voice and raised his eyes from his book. He looked surprised at the young lady before him for a second, then he smiled and bowed

Lady Brandon!What a nice surprise to see you. How are you and your lovely family, if I may ask?

He closed the book in his hands to focus in attention on her

My family is alright as well, my Lady. Thank you for asking. I'm happy meeting you here. I know you received my letter about our children and their future. I was hoping my sons could marry your daughters. Unlikely, my wife is not happy about that. But I still think this is a good chance for them..

I'm really sorry about that, my lady. But our children are still very young. Probably my wife will change her mind. What your husband thinks about that?

"I have yet to hear from him, but I doo hope he could've agree upon it" Victoria says walking to a tree and lays against it. That is if he can find the time write back. "Our children may not be able to marry one another in their future, perhaps one day my daughters and I could come to Scotland after a a return trip to Italy."

I would be honoured having you and your daughters in Scotland, my Lady. You will be very welcome. Just hope your husband is not against me because of...of rumors about us in the past. I'm sure he knows you're a virtuous and honest woman..

Oh but you did nothing wrong, my lady. Please, don't feel guilty. Nothing has happened, and my wife knows that. Probably...that's my fault. But believe me, my lady Brandon, I had no intention to ruin your reputation or something like that. The Princess will see how virtous you are..

He said looking at her face

He said and offered her his arm

Many people wouldn't agree with you, my Lady. But you know..when you love your country, even bad weather is something you miss when you are abroad. Hope your daughters will be alright. And tell me..how old are your Elizabeth and Mary, now?

He asked, turning his glance towards her

Yes..I can imagine it. Oliver and James are both 8. It seems that my twins are growing fast. And tell me..how is your father? I have heard you have a new brother, since his wife gave him a son..

He asked following her gaze around the garden

"He is faring well and is joyed to have another son" Victoria replies. It still feels like a surprise of having a new member in the Brandon family almost seems that the news wasn't long ago. "His wife is also faring well since the birth and we get along decently. "

I'm glad to hear that, my lady. I also heard that your stepmother is not so much older than you, so it's natural becoming good friends. Neverthless, it must be hard being Charles Brandon's daughter. I mean..he is one of the most powerful men at court. Have you ever felt like...overprotected by his role at King's side?

But honestly, I just care about advantages for my children, never for myself. Mine was an arranged marriage. Of course I love my wife..but since I'm King's brother in law, I prefer using this high position for my son's future. That's why I thought about your daughters, lady Brandon..
