Prince William's study

I led her to a private study. "Please have a seat, would you like anything to drink?" I asked and smiled at her.

I enter the room,"Eh no, thank you, Your Highness."

I recall how once I called him William...and I wonder why he did not let me in his room.

I pour myself a goblet of wine and take a drink as I sit opposite of her on the sofa. "So tell me my lady how have you been? It's been quite a while since we last saw each other" I asked as I then noticed she bared a wedding band, my smile faded, I looked away and took another large drink of my wine.

"I have been...well, as can be expected in the condition in which I found myself after our last...meeting,"I replied, unsure whether I should have came here.

I glance around,"Forgive me William...Your Highness,perhaps I should not have come here."

At first I didn't quite understand her, then it dawned upon me. I got up and took her by the hand, "Elizabeth...are you with child, my child?" I asked as my heart raced and I anticipated her answer.

I bite my lip as he takes my hand, how I wish he would have held it like that before,"...I i]had[/i] your child. You have a child...a son."

I stand still, completely shocked at what she has just told me. I look at her confused "Where is he? Do you you know what this means? How could you keep this from me Elizabeth!!!" I said angered.

"He is in court,"I snap and tug my hand free,"How could you leave me! I was scared and alone and you disappeared!"

I turn towards the window "You know my place is in Scotland. My duty is to make sure my brother doesn't make a fool of himself." I turn back at her "That's besides the point, how could you not tell me I have a son? I have an heir"

"I have told you now...And I had to leave court, do you have any idea what it would do to my reputation, to my family, if I had your bastard!"

I sigh and touch his shoulder,"His name is William..."

I took her hands in mine "You could have come to me, I would have married you...Did you not understand my feelings for you. Elizabeth I have never met anyone like you before." I said and closed my eyes for a moment trying to imagine what our life could have been together.

I bit my lip and hold back the tears that fill my eyes,"I thought I had no choice,"I whisper.

I glance up to him and without thought press my lips against his...

"Elizabeth, it was never over" I say as I see her eyes well up. As she presses her lips on mine I return her kiss and hold her closely.

I nuzzle my head into his neck,"I'm sorry,"is all I can manage,"I am so sorry..."

I stroke her head "It wasn't all your fault, I shouldn't have left you. I didn't intend on being away so long." I said as I held her close never wanting to let her go. "You said his name is William?"

I nod and wrap my arms around him and enjoy the feeling of contentment, of bliss,"After his father..."

I smiled "I can't wait to meet him" I then wondered who else knew about our affair. I leaned up "Elizabeth, who else knows of our child?" I asked knowing if it got back to Scotland I would have more than James to worry about.

My heart swells as he calls William ours,"No one knows he is yours...except..."
I shrug out of his embrace and hold my face in my hands,"Except...my husband."

I look at her "Who is your husband? Does he raise my child as his own?" I asked trying not to get angry again.

I sigh and moan in frustration at this situation,"He proposed to rescue me from slander and...I don't love him, in that way-it pains me to call him husband and treat him with his owed affections."

I get up and pour me another goblet of wine, and drink it down. I walked back to her and cupped her face "Do you love me?" I asked knowing my feeling had never changed for her.

I let a tear spill from my eye,"Of course I do,"I whisper...

I wipe her tear with my thumb "I have always loved you, and if I can get his majesty to annul your marriage, will you marry me, and come with me to Scotland?" I say wholeheartedly.

I laugh and sob,"Yes,"I whisper and kiss him hungrily.
