The door falls behind him and he looks around in his cell. He sits down and thinks for a while, his eyes turning back to the little table to see well what he saw as he entered the cell. A knife, a little sharp knife...
(OOC I can´t play this scene myself for two reasons, first and most important is that Wolsey never committed suicide but died on his way to the Tower in Leicester of exhaustion and illness. Second I want to honor Sam Neill who made an outstanding performance of a man, who is still hated by many but in fact England´s first true statesman.)

As I enter the cell I put my arm on the wall to steady myself as I am in shocked what I see before me, I bend over and still see that he is breathing tell the guards to send for the physician to come and see to him as he enter he starts to treat him but tells me he is serious and for me to help me move him. As the physician starts to do his job I pace the room telling the guards to check on him regular.

He hovers between heaven and earth, Joan is there, he can feel her hand touching his but as he wants to hold it, it disappears and he opens his eyes in horror, realizing he will never reach her again. The room is dark, he blinks several times to focus and then he sees Cordelia, sitting close to him. He smiles and wants to speak but his throat feels like sandpaper.
'Your Highness.... Cordelia? What happened? Where am I? Are we in court? Where is Joan?' he asks in whispers, confused and with growing panic as he can't remember the latest events.
I look at him worried as I go over him Ssshhh please do not talk as I get a drink for him and wet his lips your in the tower, who is Joan do you wish me to get a message to her, my father arrested you for treason, as I find a small wash basin I get a piece of cloth and wipe his forehead I have to go soon or I be found as I kneel Beside him taking my hand into his I wanted to tell you am to be married to a man i love

He lifts his head as she makes him drink but frowns deeply, feeling he can't swallow and his head falls back on the bed. 'Joan, yes, my beloved Joan, where is she, is she alright?' he grabs her hand to make her listen and understand but then he gets a coughing fit and can't speak further, meanwhile hearing he is arrested for treason. 'Me... arrested for treason? Why? I always served my king and I always will!' he closes his eyes but can't put the pieces together, then she speaks on and he looks at her again.
'Getting married? In love? But... to whom?' he asks, watching her with concern. 'Are you in troubles again, my dear child? What if your father finds out?'

As I turn up at the tower I see a servant girl coming out with his food I nod then enter his room and see another lady my lady please leave this man is locked up for treason unless you wish to join him. If he talks well then I might let you see him later today, he is not allowed visitors by the order of the King, as I looked at the cardinal well if you are well to talk then we can start questions then I say with a smirk

He smiles approvingly on hearing who she will marry. 'A Scottish prince! Your father will be pleased, then. A royal marriage and a chance to strengthen the ties with Scotland, yes, I am sure he likes that! I hope this Edward will be good to you, if not, let me know and I will speak with him, I wish you happiness!'
She asks him if Joan would join her and come with her to Scotland and he shakes his head, still confused. 'Joan, to Scotland? Of course not, she belongs with me!' He wonders why she asks such thing but then the door opens and Joan is next to him, he kisses her again and again and wipes her tears away gently. 'I know you need me, as I need you and of course I did nothing! I don't know why I am here but I am sure this is all just a misunderstanding, I never committed treason, I would rather take my own life!' He holds her close while Cordelia tells him she must go.
'I am glad you don't want to be in troubles anymore, thank you for coming here, I know you took a huge risk to come here in the first place. Please, take care, and stay in touch with me, I hope to see you again, soon!' As she leans over he draws the sign of the cross on her forehead to bless her.
She leaves and immediately sir Kingston enters again, he cuddles Joan and whispers in her ear. 'Go and see Master Cromwell, my love, he will look after you! And I am sure you can come back to visit me soon again.' He kisses her once more and then looks at Kingston.
'Ask me what you want, Master Kingston, I feel... fine.' His troat still bothers him and he wants to touch it, but it is wrapped in bandages and he looks at chem with growing concern, as he still can't remember why he ended up in this state.

*She thanks Cordelia hor her help and holds her beloved Thomas tightely, kissing his whole face, forehead and lips, tears run down from her eyes but she tries to be strong for him* my love, everything will be fine ofcourse, I will do my upbest to help you, and I will go to Cromwell ofcourse, but we know he still works for the king and maybe if I ask him his help it can be taken as a treason. Awww anyway, I won't let these monsters do with you whatever they please, ofcourse you can lock me here, I will remain forever by his side! *she tells to the man. Thomas' words make her see she can't help him like that and holds his hands tightely, kissing them as she strokes her face against them* You're a saint, the greatest man ever! and I promise you , you will come to our house very soon! we will live happily there as we've always wished, working for the sake of people and sharing our wonderful love as we deserve, living it fully *kisses his head once again and leaving him there breakes her heart but she swares herself she will take him out of that ugly place, even if that is the last thing she does. A guard leads her outside and she can't hold her tears as she sees the heavy old door closing behind the interrogator's back*

He thinks about Joan´s words and assures her. ´Go to him anyway, my love, he will know what to do! Soon we will be reunited, I promise, please, take care!´ He holds her as long as possible and watches her go with moist eyes, praying quietly that she will be safe.
The words of Kingston echo through his mind and as soon as the door falls behind her, he turns to him. ´Of course they are fine, I am daily informed about their health...´ he stops, he has no idea how long he has been locked in the Tower yet. He tries to sit upright but falls back. ´Are they alright? Please, tell me they are!'
Kingston's question makes him shiver as he can't remember exactly what happened, the last thing he knows is Brandon, rushing into their house and the painful farewell to Joan. He shakes his head and looks Kingston directly in the eyes. 'All I know is that I am arrested for treason, but what treason? I never conspired against my King!'

As I sit in the chair and take a mouthful of wine treason can be any thing the King wants it to be. The King is deeply unhappy that you failed at getting his Divorce, there fore the King see's it as insult on him. You can be free all you have to do is sign a written confession.
He shakes his head as he quickly reads the confession he is supposed to sign. Everything inside him screams not to confess a betrayal he never committed, but the only possible alternative would be to stand in trial against his own king, again a dragging process, humiliating and painful, the last thing he wants for his beloved king.
He sighs deeply and picks up the quill, dipping it in the ink. Before he signs however, he starts to talk.
** 'Well, well, Master Kingston, I see the matter against me how it is framed. But if I had served God as diligently as I have done the King, he would not have given me over in my grey hairs. Howbeit this is just reward that I must receive for my worldly diligence and pains that I have had to do him service, only to satisfy his vain pleasures, not regarding my godly duty. Wherefore I pray you with all my heart to have me most humbly commended unto his Royal Majesty, beseeching him in my behalf to call to his most gracious remembrance all matters proceeding between him and me from the beginning of the world unto this day, and the progress of the same. And most chiefly in the weighty matter yet depending (meaning the Great Matter between him and good Queen Catherine) – then shall his conscience declare whether I have offended him or no.
He is sure a prince of a royal courage, and hath a princely heart; and rather than he will either miss or want any part of his will or appetite, he will put the loss of one half of his realm in danger. For I assure you I have often kneeled before him in privy chamber on my knees the space of an hour or two to persuade him from his will and appetite; but I could never bring to pass to dissuade him therefrom. **
He swallows painfully and signs the document, then hands it to Kingston.
**'Therefore, Master Kingston, if it chance hereafter you to be one of his privy council (as for your wisdom and other qualities ye be meet so to be) warn you to be well advised and assured what matter ye put in his head; for ye shall never pull it out again!'**
He falls back on the bed, exhausted and closes his eyes.
(**Actual words spoken to Kingston while travelling to London, written down many years later -1554/1558- by his servant George Cavendish. Neither Kingston, neither Cavendish ever told these words to Henry. He also spoke about the dangers of the rising Reformism)

As I sit there and listern to this man Cardinal, you know more then most people that the king blows hot and cold. He just wants to marry his whore boleyn but am willing to bet how long this union will last. Maybe if I speak he will send you to exile. I will heed to your wise words cardinal as you know how to get the King to understand as he closes his eyes I get up with the document and send it to the tower

He opens his eyes and blinks several times, he feels a presence but it takes a while before he realizes it is Kingston. He sits up, clearing his throat to be able to speak.
'Master Kingston! I am sorry to keep you waiting, how long did I sleep? What is the time?'
He looks around but he can't tell if it is day or night, the cellar is dark and the little window does not allow daylight. 'Have you seen the King yet? How is he, do you have any news?'

few hours, as I sit in a chair with my elbow on the table and fingers by my mouth i believe it is evening but it does not matter as he says the next part I look at the wall then back at him no I have not been too court yet and there is no news of yet

He holds his breath and let go as Kingston tells him there is no news.
'So, what will happen next? Did you send him the document? What is going on at court at the moment?' he asks eagerly, he was always the first to know things and now he has to rely on others for information.

He nods as he hears the papers have been sent to court but when Kingston tells him about the king setting up his own court he raises his eyebrows and asks him sharply.
'What do you mean by setting up his own court? Will he... abandon the Church of Rome? Is that what you are suggesting?'

yes, it is almost complete that a church led by his majesty soon be away from Rome. Lets not talk about that how are you feeling now after your attempt at your own life. I was thinking that I might let Joan visit you but am lets say undecided
