My heart leapt when the gentleman came out and introduced himself. I had been expecting a man, but hadn't dreamt of one so handsome and charming. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Amelia von Cleves," I said when I found my voice. "I sing of love because it's the world's greatest hope. If one can love and be loved, there is little else to aspire to. Or so I've been told." His gaze was direct and honest, and while I could not look away I found myself blushing hotly.

Ah! A lady who was from my own homeland. Was this a sign of great things to come between us? Only time would tell, but what a fool I wasn't to of noticing her back at home. Picking a rose I took a step towards her inhales that sweet intoxicating scent of flowers that was her scent. It filled me with a sense of calm and tranquillity. My restless soul calming in her presence. Love can be found in the oddest places. Never settles for anything less than love my lady Amelia. With a graceful hand I slipped the rose into her silky brown locks. Her bright eyes flashed back at me with nothing but innocence and virtue. Just as pure as the flower.

My gaze was upon him all the while, especially when he placed the rose in my hair. It was sort of a secret coronation, witnessed only by us and the butterflies. "I never intend to settle, and though my heart is not a prize to be won, I will give it freely and completely-- when the time comes." I looked at him through my lowered lashes and because he was so near his scent intrigued me-- he smelled of cologne and woods and leather. "You seem to speak of love so easily. Are you an expert?" I teased.

Each step was as graceful as the last. My elegant fingers brushing against the Crimson petals, contrasting my snow like skin. I release a gentle sigh and breathed in the fresh air. I always found solace in the gardens, the great sky expanding above me like an endless tapestry. Unescorted, I had left my household to the tasks and fled my apartments for the call of the outside. The breeze caught my hair and gown, I closed my eyes and took yet another step in the blissful peace.

A voice had called my name and broken the train of my thoughts, dragging my mind back to reality. A voice I knew and recognised. The voice of an old friend. "Charles." I sang in delight, my voice like silk and honey. It had been quite some time since I had last seen the man who had known me most of my life, I had sought solitude after what had happened with the Duke of Norfolk, when he had made me a victim of an attack, and kept myself away from many of the court events. "It has been a little while, hasn't it?" I offer a smile, faint smile... "But I am well, thank you. How are you?"

"Charles hugged her tightly and smiled her back"
I'm fine, Katie...thank you. Just thinking about how boring summer at court is. My wife and I would love spending some day in Suffolk with little Henry...but I'm afraid your brother will need me for his new coming wedding. And what about you, dear? I see you well...
