Frozen pond

"Of course I'm happy." Dorothy smiles as she tries to spin on the ice "I'm in the Queen's service, I have a knight that has taken a great interest in me and I have everything that a lady should be thankful for." Dorothy says as she takes her sister's hand and pulls her on the ice.

"Except Margery." Dorothy says as she drags Elizabeth on the ice "Do you think she wants to be an old maid?"

"Or she's finding the right moment to be a nun." Ideas buzz around in Dorothy's head like bees in a hive "Do you think it possible?"

"Of course." Dorothy has heard many things that can happen when a woman decides to devote herself to God and the church "Visitations are allowed at nunneries. Do you think Mama and Papa would want her to do if she won't get married?"

Dorothy came to the frozen pond with skates in hand. To make sure the pond is completely frozen, she laced the skates together and strung them on a high branch to make sure they won't get stolen. Afterwards she slowly and carefully walks on the ice.

With winter in full force Amelia knew she could enjoy her childhood past time of ice skating. She walked down to the frozen pond and to her surprise there was already someone else there; another woman about her age. Excited, Amelia laced up her skates and immediately got on the ice skating towards the woman "It's nice to see someone else enjoying the ice" she said with a smile while trying to keep her proportion and not fall.

Dorothy looks up and sees a woman skating towards her."I would say the same thing." She smiless as she waddles with her arms out to prevent slipping.

"I'm Amelia Atwell, Duchess of Wiltshire" she introduced herself and skated towards a bench hoping she would follow so they could talk.

After checking every square inch of ice and almost slipping, Dorothy waddles and steps off the frozen pond and towards her skates on the tree. "Dorothy Seymour, Lady in the Queen's service." She smiles as she sits adjacent to the Duchess and unknots the skates. "What brings the Duchess out here?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Lady Seymour" Amelia had heard of the Seymour family but never had the pleasure of meeting one. "Sometimes I enjoy getting away from it all and pretending like it used to be" she explained wondering if she would understand, even so she still smiled and began to unlace her skates hoping to prehaps walk around in the clean crisp air.

" I understand. Tis great to be outdoors away from the babels and what not from court, is it not? Dorothy removes the skates and returns her shoes onto her feet.
