Walled Garden

It was a beautiful day. The birds were singing, the bees were buzzing, and there was a soft breeze blowing through the trees in the garden, and Catherine smiled to Anne when they made they way there.

A perfect day for a walk. Don't you agree Anne?

Anne looked around. She never visited this garden. It was a beautiful place. She took a deep breath and listened to the singing of birds and buzzing bees.

"You're right. This is a wonderful place. Wonderful place for a romantic meetings."

She smiled and imagined Walter.

A light breeze blew its warmth over her face and ruffled her hair, as they walked along the garden.

Maybe next time you can bring your love out here.

She said with a smile.

Anne felt a warm breeze on her face. She took a breath and felt the fresh scent of flowers.

"Maybe yes. You found the most beautiful place here."

She nodded approvingly and smiled.

A wistful smile crossed her face as she breathed deeply of the sweet, poignant scent of the flowers filling the air.

I think I did, indeed. It was by accident. I was looking for stables instead I stumbled at this garden, and immoderately thought to be in heaven.

Anne frowned. She looked for a stables here too, but found nothing. She not heard a horse neighing.

"The stables I didn't found here too, but this garden is a veritable paradise. No place in England is awesome like this. Suitable for picnic, what do you think?"

She smiled.

Catherine smiled at Anne's question, she'd thinking the same.

Oh, yes! Absolutely!

She exclaimed joyfully.

"I'm glad that you like this idea. Shall we go to the kitchen for some good wine and food. And in my bedroom is an old blanket. I think that we have everything."

She clapped her hands gleefully.

"We can have a picnic."

She beamed at Anne's suggestion, her entire face lit up.

Oh, the picnic sounds wonderful! Come let's go and take all the things we need.

She said, leading her to the kitchen.

Anne laughed.

"Great! So now we go to the kitchen and then I'm going for a blanket. I'm looking forward."

Followed Catherine to the kitchen.

She smiled to Anne and gave a nod with her head.

We shall have so much fun!

She exclaimed.

Anne and Catherine returned back to the garden. Anne spread a blanket on the ground and straightened it.

"Well, we can start celebrating."

She sat down on the blanket and reached for the basket.

She sat down, smoothed her skirt, and looked at Anne with a happy smile upon her lips.

We can!

She took two glasses from basket, filling them with wine, then handed one to Anne.

To us! May we always be happy like this!

Anne took a glass and lifted it solemnly.

"To us and to this wonderful moment. Would that all the moments in life were so nice like this."

Gently clinked with glasses and Anne took a sip.

"I love this moment!"

She took a sip of wine and smiled.

A perfect moment.

She said, it was nice having a picnic with her friend.

Is the man that is lurking around here your sweetheart?

She put down her goblet and took one grape. She savored the sweet fruit because she loved grapes.

"Do you mean Walter?"

She smiled.

Catherine took some of the bread and meat they brought, as she not removed her eyes from her friend.

Of course, I meant Walter! Unless you've another one.  

She said while raising her eyebrow.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought for a while."

She smiled.

"No, I will always be faithful to Walter. Another man no exist for me."

From the basket she took bread and meat.

Catherine took a small sip from her goblet, leaning against the tree behind her.

So what does he say? Is he came back for you?

Anne had a gratifying response.

"Yes. Oh, Catherine, I'm in love. Now more than ever before."

Anne giggled and bit off a piece of bread and meat.

Seeing her best friend so happy made Catherine to smile with joy.

I'm so happy for you, Anne. There isn't anything more wonderful than being in love.

She said, knowing herself how happy she'd been and complete since she meet Thomas.

Does he feel the same way?

Anne reached to Catherine and gently grabbed her hand.

"Thank you very much. Is it true, love is so beautiful. However, you know it."

She winked at her and pulled away slowly.

"Seems to me that yes. He didn't forget at me."

Catherine giggled, softly blushing. Then she took a small sip of her wine, enjoying in the sweetness.

I do. And in truth it changed my life completely. I've not been so happy in whole my life.

She said, then softly clapped her hands excitedly.

I was so right! I told you he remembers you and would come for you. Like he promised.

Anne took the apple and bite of it. It was sweet and juicy. She smiled when Catherine blushed.

"This is exactly how I feel too. Life is totally different when you're in love."

When Catherine clapped, this time blushed Anne.

"You were right. Walter is my true love. I never leave him. I love him so much!"
