Sophie had arrived in Denmark on a warm spring day. Their had always been a plan in place to marry her off to a Danish man. Who that man was to be no one could say. All she knew that one day , one day her time would come. Stepping out from her carriage she let her golden curls fall off her shoulders. Denmark looked like a cold, lonely, palace which needed a touch of spice added to it.

Frederick had heard hear say that the Duchess had arrived in Denmark and he wanted to formally greet her himself. Stepping out of the castle, he wore his kingly jewels, and he was attired in black and had a sword at his hilt. Walking down the steps he saw a beautiful, very beautiful woman and he smiled before bowing "Welcome, my lady."

Sophie watched the king come out of his castle and greet her. Their was something entrancing about him and the way he walked. She blushed as she felt his gaze upon her. Biting her red lip Sophie sank into a deep curtsey. Your majesty. She peeped her icy blue eye's up at him feeling slightly drawn to him.

Frederick looked down at this beauty knelt at his feet and he looked at his kinsmen and he smiled before putting his hand out for her "Please, stand." he said his hand offering to help her up "We are having a feast this night in the hall, and I would be honoured if you sat beside me at my table."

Sophie wrapped her delicate fingers around his hand. As she stood she bumped into his body. Her blue eye's blinked up at him blissfully at ease in his presence. I would be honoured to have a place at your side. She said with sincere words as she smiled gratefully.

He smiled as he helped her and he held her and he nodded "Then it is sorted." he said with a knowing smile and he took a deep breath "Do you wish to go and get unpacked or we could continue into the hall now?"

I would much rather be in his majesty's presence than to unpack. Sophie slipped it in so casually as if she had known him all her life.

Frederick smiled and he nodded "Then I shall lead the way." he said to her and he offered her his arm before leading her up the steps.

Sophie pressed her fingers into his arms. As she breathed in, she caught the smell of him and it was nothing but power. Absoulte power to be more precise. When they walked up the stairs together side by side. Sophie wondered what would happen with her life here.

As my Carriage stopped inside of the courtyard, I heard the carriage door open and I reached my hand out to the door man as he slowly helped me down the stairs.
I looked around the courtyard nervously, I have rarely left my home in Italy and traveling to Denmark to meet with the Queen was a new experience for me.

Loneliness must be quite hard your majesty, as I can also agree that us women seam to have loneliness running through our veins.
I myself only having been married for two years was finding it hard when my husband was away for many months.
May I say Denmark is still as beautiful as I remember it, shall we walk a bit if you have the time.

It was frustrating how reliant we women were on our husbands as though there was never a time without them. Us royal and noble ladies often have to act on behalf of our husbands. twice the burden. Would you like to view a different part of Denmark?

"I have to agree with you, being born a noble lets you not have a life that you may long for and we marry not for love but for whom our families wish.”
Even though it was hard being a duchess, I knew the Queens burden was a heavy one and I had the up most respect for her.
"Yes I would like to view a different part of Denmark that is if you have the time as I know you must be quite busy.”

Of course dear! I have all the time for you duty be damned for the rest of the day.

It was very lonely with Frederick not here - fighting to secure the borders of Denmark for long periods of time. I needed some hours away from my duty - putting my crown aside and just being myself.
