Anna Stafford's bedchamber

I walk down the corridor and knock on Lady Stafford's bedchambers.

As I was reading, I hear a knock on my door. I get up and walk to the door and open it. I am surprised to see the Duchess of Suffolk.

Your grace! What a surprise! Please, come in!

Margaret walked in and looked at Anne 'My visit is brief, and all i have to come to say it.' She said, and she took a deep breath 'Nan and Charles will be together, i know that..he is married to me. But, there is something about her that draws her in. So please, don't go ruining it because you and him have Children, near half the ladies of court probably have children from him, and he does not know' She said.

I glare at Margaret as i feel tears stinging my eyes.

I have loved Charles even before you married him! If you want to keep me away from him then he will no longer see his children! I promise you that!

he governess brings in baby Jane and hands her over to me as smile and kiss her forehead before handing her back so she can go for her nap

If this is your will, so be it! You have just cost him his children! Now, please....leave me!

I turn my back as I bite my lip , tears starting to fall.

Margaret looked around unsure of what to do, she knelt beside Anna and took a wet cloth from one of the servants and patted her head gently with it 'My lady...are you..fine?' She asked, knowing it was a stupid question indeed.

I arrived at Anna Stafford room and calmly entered. I saw the her lie down but then saw Princess Margaret,"Your Highness."

Slowly i open my eyes and panic as I look around and see Princess Margaret and Lady Anne Grey.

What.....happened?

Margaret gulped a little 'You....fainted.. She said as if it was obvious enough.

I frown and stand up with the help of a servant. Still feeling dizzy, I am helped to a chair and given a goblet of water. My face still pale, I turn to the Duchess and say in a sift voice.

I...I did not eat this day. And the heat is most certainly a factor.... I should perhaps rest!

Margaret gulped and shook her head 'Or perhaps you are with child..again' She said and she looked at the servant nodding to her to fetch a Physician and Margaret looked back to Anna.

I shake my head as tears threaten to flow. I refuse to believve that. I look at her as I breathe a bit faster.

No....I refuse to believe it!

Margaret looked at Anna, feeling hopeless she sat beside her and embraced her in a awkward hug and she looked at Anna 'Would it be Charles'?' She asked.

Angered at the Duchess' question I close my eyes and take a deep breath, swallowing hard.

IF....and I do mean IF i were with child, yes, it would be Charles' child! But I cannot be....Charles is the only man was with in a long time....but he does not want me....

I bury my face and erupt in sobs.

I...I am leaving to buckingham for good! And my children are coming with me!

Margaret sighed and she shook her head and without a word, got up and left.

"After receiving Anna's message, Charles reached immediately her chamber. He needed to see her. Then he took a deep breath and knocked at her door"

Anna...are you there?

Sitting in a chair, I take a deep breath as Charles enters my chamber. I look down as I curtsy to him, nervous about my return to court.

Hello, Charles... I have brought our sons back from Buckingham. They are eager to see you!

"Charles entered in the room and rushed towards her. He kissed deeply her hand and hold her face in his hand"

Anna...how are you? I can't wait to see Charlie and Edward, my dear. But please...don't stand. I heard that you fainted before leaving for Buckingham. Are you...alright?

"He asked, leaning softly his other hand on her shoulder"

Unable tollok him in the eye, I take a deep breath. I do not know how to tell him.

I am fine, Charles. Please....do not worry. Charlie and Edward are eager to see you as well, as are Catalina and Jane. You will be most proud of them, Charles.

"Charles sat with her on bed and sighed deeply, holding her hand"

I already am, Anna. I...I know the reason because you fainted...

"He stopped for a while, trying to find the right words"

Margaret...told me everything. Just tell me, Anna: is it true? Are you with child again?

"He asked finally, looking into her eyes. His breath was more deep and fast now"

I pullmy hand from his and stand as I make my way to the window, looking outside. I sigh loudly as I bit my lip.

Yes.....Tis true but know I am not pleased with these news. I ...I do not wish for more children, Charles!

"Charles looked surprised at Anna and glanced at her belly"

Anna...I am confused too. But...I can't believe you don't want it...

"He could just say. Then gulped and bit his lips"

I frown as I look at him, shaking my head.

It is not that I do not want this child but i am scared. The last birth was difficult and nearly cost my life if you remember. I am afraid of worse this time. And I ...I'm afraid you are angry...I did not intend for this to happen and after what Nan has said to me.....

My voice trails off as I drop the subject of Nan as I know his feelings for her.

Matters not.... I shall leave court for good as to not be in your way with this....this child!
