Alfonsina Garcia's Bedroom

She smiled weakly.

"I am happy to hear that you are better. And , of course you miss her. That's normal."

Then she added.

"Thank you Charles.. But I can take another pillow , because i think it got dirty."

She took the pillow under her head and gave it to Charles.

"Charles took the pillow she gave him and looked at it. He noticed some blood on it. Remembering when he found blood on Margaret's pillow, he turned shocked towards her"

Alfonsina...there is blood on your pillow. Hope you told it to physician...

"He said worriedly, staring at her pale face"

She looked at him without knowing what to say. She was hating to seem like this to the others. She shook her head.

"It happened after he left. But I will , don't worry.."

She weakly smiled.

"Charles listened silently at her. He sighed and stood up. He put away the dirty pillow and took a new one from the sofa. Once he reached her bed again, he put gently the pillow under her head"

Don't be agitated, Alfonsina. Everything will be fine. But I'll inform immediately the physician about that. He surely knows how to make you heal...

"He said with a weak smile, sitting next to her again"

Alfonsina held Charles' hand and smiled weakly.

"Thank you for everything Charles... I couldn't survive in this court without you even just for a day.. Thanks for everything.."

"Charles shrugged and couldn't avoid to smile for her words. He shook slowly his head"

Oh...you have no need to thank me, Alfonsina. You know you can count on me for everything. I'll never leave you...

"He added almost whispering. Then he leaned on her and kissed softly her forehead"

She smiled and added.

"Then I can give you a little secret.."

She looked at him with a pale face and tired eyes.

"You are the best friend in the world."

She grinned weakly.

"Charles laughed silently while looking at her"

Oh...you know I can keep secrets. Especially yours...

"He giggled and touched softly her forehead. It was warm because of fever"

Uhm...I think some fresh water could give you comfort...

"He kept on looking around room"

Her eyes were so tired that she could barely wink them.

"I think too much about Thomas. What will he do after me? The thought of not seeing him while he is growing up kills me the most. "

She said while Charles was looking around the room.

"Charles frowned and turned to her again"

Oh...don't say so, dear. Of course you'll see him growing. You will be fine again...I promise you...

"He smiled and squeezed her hand. He finally found a bowl. He stood up and filled it with fresh water. After that, he took off his coat for being more comfortable and brought the bowl until her bed. He sat on bed again and put it on bed too. Then he took his handkerchief and put it in the water"

You'll see...this always works...

"He winked and leaned his wet handkerchief on her forehead"

As he put a handkerchief on her forehead , Alfonsina closed her eyes for a little. She could hear her heartbeats. They were so slow. Then she opened her eyes and smiled to Charles.

"Thanks again Charles.. It made me relieved.. At least I am not burning now."

She smiled weakly again.

"Charles smiled, feeling happy to bring her some comfort"

I'll order to your ladies to keep your forehead wet. And very soon you'll take care of your baby personally. You're the most strong woman I've ever met, Alfonsina...

"He added tenderly, holding her hand in his"

She shook her head.

"No Charles... I am not strong. Look at me.. I am always ill."

Then she smiled weakly.

"Anyway.. Thank you again Charles. I wouldn't want you to see me like that after your loss. I am so sorry."

"Charles looked silently at her and shook his head after her words"

Oh...you have no need to apologize, dear. You're always beautiful...even sick...

"He smiled and kissed deeply her hand"

I think...it's better letting you sleep. I'll call lady Margaret and I'll send her to you. I'll visit you tomorrow...

"He said with tender voice"

She nodded and smiled.

"Thank you my dear friend... I will see you soon then. Until then , take care of yourself."

Then she added.

"Do not steal many hearts with your charm."

She winked weakly to him.

"Charles laughed, amused by her words"

I'll try, my lady. And you...take care of yourself and have rest. I can't wait to attend to my godson's christening...

"He stood up from bed and left the bowl on the table next to her"

She smiled after his words. Then she watched him to bring bowl near her.

"Thank you..."

She smiled again and took his hand and squeezed it. She winked both of her eyes to him greatfully. Suddenly , she felt so tired that she couldn't open her eyes. She tried to speak for explaining the situation to Charles.

"I feel so tired Charles. I think I will - "

She couldn't finish her sentence,she immediately fell asleep.

"Charles noticed that she fell asleep while talking. He smiled weakly and made her forehead wet again. After that, he caressed softly her hairs and left her room with slow steps"

Edward returned to Alfonsina's room after visiting their son-he noticed The Duke of Suffolk saunter along the corridor from the room. Edward bowed his head and carried on walking...

He then tried the door and saw Alfonsina sleeping he smiled softly and walked into the room and sat lovingly by the bed.

She was having a nightmare when Edward came to the room. She saw horrible things in her dream. She was dying after that Edward wasnt paying any attention to Thomas. Thomas was growing up after a while and he got sick and died. She woke up suddenly and she was out of breath.

Edward looked to Alfonsina as she woke up with a start,"Are you alright?"he asked full of worry.

When she saw Edward near her , she took a deep breath and smiled.

"Just nightmare , love..."

Then she added.

"How is Thomas?"

He touched her cheek and smiled softly at her,"Do you want to tell me about it?"

He then grinned,"He does us both proud-he is thriving, feeds well...he even smiled when I saw him. I never knew babies could smile-it was wonderful..."

She shook her head.

"No, forget about it."

Then she added with a great sigh.

"I miss him already.."

Edward nodded although he was not convinced-he sensed that she was keeping something from him. He didn't pry and just smiled weakly.

"I am sure he misses you too but he will not remember these early days and months-you will be well again and then he will have his mother back,"Edward sighed and mumbled,"I saw Charles Brandon leave your chamber...did you ask him to be a godfather to him?"
