Arthur's Chambers

Jane walked through the hallways and heard of a new fellow at court, she smiled at the door she was stood infront of and tapped on it lightly. She was going to welcome the new comer to court.

It had been a very long journey. And, he was completely exhausted. And,he leaned back in his chair, and looked out the window. But, he was interrupted by a sudden knock on his door. He came to his feet, and opened the door.....and before him was a lovely woman. Arthur bowed his head, smiled at her. "Hello, my lady," he said as he bowed his head.

Jane curtsied lowly and smiled 'My Lord' She said and she stood up and clasped her hands at the front of her and smiled at him 'I would like to welcome you to...Whitehall Palace..i know it sounds stupid that i would come and do this..but its what i do' She said and she blushed a little and she looked down.

Arthur chuckled, and simply shook his head. "Nothing sounds stupid, my lady. I thank you for welcoming me to court," he said smiling. He lifted her chin up, and smiled. "Come in....and tell me about yourself," he said to her.

Jane went inside and smiled she looked at Arthur 'Well...my name is Jane Bassett, im Lady in Waiting to the Queen Katherine..i came from France at a young age,....is there anything else?' she asked with a polite smile.

He closed the door halfway, and smiled at her. Arthur nodded and listened to her short but sweet story. "That is lovely. I am the Earl of Cornwall. There is nothing exciting or thrilling about my life. I am just a simple man," he said to her.

Jane smiled and nodded 'You know what they say, the simpler the man, the more wonderful he is' she said with a kind smile.

He grinned at her compliment. It was not everyday Arthur recieved compliments like that before. "Thank you, my lady. I actually believe it's the simpler things in life that are wonderful," he said to her.

Jane smiled and nodded 'You are right, such as, look up at the stars at night is so simple yet it is ever so wonderful to see' she said with a smile 'Do you like the stars, your grace?' she asked.

He smirked, and nodded. "Yes. Yes I do enjoy the stars. I love going outside during the night," he said. Arthur folded his arms over his chest, and smiled at her.

Jane looked at Arthur and smiled 'Really? i love the stars to, although the stars should be jealous because im sure your eyes shine brighter than them' she said with a cheeky smile.

Arthur smiled brightly at her compliment. "Why, thank you," he continued," my lady, thank you for the wonderful compliment. I must say you are prettier than the stars, too," he said. Arthur smiled again, and patted his trousers.

Jane raised her eyebrow and nodded a little and she stood up 'Well, im sorry if im keeping you behind on your..daily tasks' she said with a small smile.

Arthur looked at her and, shook his head. He was embrassessed. "Oh, no! My lady, I am sorry there was dirt on my trousers," he continued," it's nothing like that." He could feel his cheeks grow red.

Jane laughed a little and shook her head and laughed 'Oh, there is no need to apologize mi'lord' she said with a smile.

He nodded his head, and smiled. "Good," he continued," I have a tendency to overract sometimes," he said. Arthur straightened his back, and smiled.

Jane laughed softly and smiled as her eyes glimmered 'There is nothing wrong with overreacting now, is there?' she asked and she smiled 'I find it amusing' she added.

"Oh, really? Well, that is the first I have ever heard of that before," he chuckled. Arthur liked Lady Bassett already. She seemed like a very fun person to be around, and someone you could just say anything to and, not act cold. "Lady Bassett I must say this....you are a amusing person," he continued," and, I like you already," he said.

Jane smiled and blushed a little before tipping her head to the side 'And i must say, you are a very nice man to talk to and i fear that i like you back aswell' she said with a small smile.

Arthur nodded, and smiled at her. He enjoyed her. He did not know what it was but, he felt like these two could be......no....would be friends. But, he would have to see what would happen in the future. For now he would just focus on the present. He turned his head, and looked out the window.....and sighed as it began to rain. "And, now I think this shall be a boring day," he said.

Jane laughed a little 'Why shall it be a boring day, your grace?' she asked and she looked at the window 'Oh..well..i must say, it is very fun...playing in the rain, i tried it before and fell into a..fountain' she said.

"I've always found the rain to be quite boring," he replied. Arthur folded his arms over his chest, and smiled a bit. He raised an eyebrow at her statement. So, she liked the rain? Hmm, well everyone was different. "That sounds fun, my lady," he chuckled.

Jane smiled a little 'Edward said that i might be a goddess of water, or a mermaid in disguise as for, i always like playing in the fountain..he told me a story about it' she said.

"Edward? Is he your brother? Fiance? Or, husband," he asked. But, he had to agree with this Edward. She was a veyr, very pretty woman, and he could see why this 'Edward' said that.
