Jasper had decided to come to The Great Hall in the hopes of some food and ale.
His men with -whom he had travelled- had all abandoned their posts upon arrival at the palace; some had made the journey back into the city, some had clambered straight to their beds and a few raced to the kitchens for some sweet meats in return for their generous wages given by Jasper.

He did not bother to change out of his clothes which he had worn for riding, they were handsome enough. As he strolled into the hall he was handed a goblet by a scrawny young servant,"Thank you sir,"he murmured with a devilishly attractive smile.

As I retake my sit and pick up more wine I notice a new person enter, as I watch the dances ad the newly engage couple dance, I watch on

As Jasper finished off his ale he notice a young girl staring at him. He chuckled a little to himself as he sipped the ale, he then raised his goblet in her direction,"Good evening."

Watches him lift his globet towards me Good evening Sir[ asking a courtier who he was

Jasper raised his eyebrows and grinned. He then set down his goblet on a nearby table and licked his lips as he examined the floor upon which everyone was now dancing a galliard. He folded his arms and strolled toward the girl,"Would you care to dance with me, mistress?"

As he asks me to dance I stand up I love to dance but am no mistress chuckles

Jasper chortled and swept and elaborate bow as he slipped onto the floor seamlessly,"Then what are you...a lady...a duchess?"he asked and began to join in the dance,

as i move away from the table and he bows i curtsy before standing opposite him in the dance i am Princess Cordelia Rose Tudor oldest daughter of Henry VIII and you are sir?

Jasper smiled to himself-of course he knew she was the illegitimate daughter of The King, had he not heard of her and how she asked to be treated legitimate? Tales of her had reached the country -no matter how much doubt surrounded her parentage- she was rather famous. He took her hand as they skipped down the floor in accordance with the dance,"I am Jasper Crawley...Duke of Somerset...so I believe that makes me...Your Grace and not 'sir',"he replied playfully with a wink.

smiles of course please forgive me on that account am still learning, what brings you to court then?

"Ah, there is nothing what so ever to forgive and besides it is in my nature not to hold pretty young girls in contempt,"he said as he circled round her, clapping his hand in time with the music.

"A change of scene,"he replied and shrugged his shoulders, for a moment forgetting the dance,"I'm sure you can imagine how boring the country gets."

yes more then you would know but then court can be a boring as well as i clao and twirl around walks towards him then turns to walk back to the same spot

Jasper then returned playfully,"Perhaps I should return to the country...but then again I am having so much fun already,"he laughed and then paused.
It was nearly the point at which he should lift his partner, maybe lifting a girl such as this would startle her. It was in accordance with the dance however she seemed such a conservative little thing. He gestured to lift her,"Eh...with your permission..."

looks around to the other dancers and realise it was the dance yes you may, and welcome to court

Jasper carefully lifted her into his arms, she was light and caused him no exertion to lift her. As he spun her round he smiled and replied,"My hearty thanks."

He then set her down and swept a bow as the music drew to a close,"You dance well,"he observed.

so do your grace thank you i do not often get to dance would you care to join taking my sit and picking up my drink

"Thank you, despite your lack of experience your talent is certainly not hindered,"he said and took a seat.
There was a plentiful supply of food which gave him a great deal of pleasure, he began picking bit of food and smiled,"Forgive me-how barbaric I must look, but I'm still hungry from my travels."

smiles do help your self if you require any more just ask, Hope you have not travelled far

"Far enough,"Jasper replied as he began to eat some sweet meats,"I'm from Berkshire originally-it took a day or two to get here."

# do hope it was a good trip, i have heard some of the roads can be hard to get through these days as i contiune to drink and look around at the people off the hall, please tell me more about yourself, sorry i do not get to meet many new people

Jasper chuckled and sipped some ale,"Well...there were a few rogues but nothing I could not handle."

He then put down the goblet and folded his arms across his chest,"What do you want to know?"

do you know my father? trying to be nice but looks down thinking am failing really fast

Jasper raised his eyebrows at how casually she addressed The King as her father-he had never really acknowledged her but never the less he nodded,"Yes...well we have crossed paths a few times but I could not say I am fortunate enough to be a friend...but a loyal servant, of course."

well at least he has loyal servants like yourself smiling to him
