| Wolsey looks approvingly at her. She would be suitable He stands up and bows slightly at her, then makes an inviting gesture at a chair. ´Please, my lady, sit down... do you like a refreshment? Some juice, or some water perhaps?'

| I nod and gracefully walk over to a leather upholstered chair,"Some water please, Your Eminence."
I look at the books that line the walls in his room. If I could sleep myself into a room full of books of poetry and fantastical stories then I should remain in a deep and undisrupted slumber forever. I turn to the cardinal...

| Wolsey sits down again while a servant brings fresh water in two glasses and put it on the table. He waits for the servant to leave and then looks friendly at her. 'Well, we had a pleasant conversation... some time ago. Have you given it another thought, my lady?' he asks curious. | |

| "Thank you,"I whisper to the servant and take the goblet of water. I take a sip and then place the goblet silently on The Cardinals desk.
"Your Eminence I can only say that I wish to serve Their Majesties in anyway I can. I will strive to help the progression of His Majesty and His realm."

| Wolsey nods at her words and rubs his chin. 'My lady, spoken about progress, you are certainly aware of the present precair position of Her Majesty? It's why I need loyal people around her, who keep me informed about her, in her own interest...'
He looks at her and sigh. 'She is surrounded by all kind of people, not all want the best for her. My lady, by any chance, do you speak some Spanish?'

| I nod as he speaks. His wisdom is evident and I would do well to listen to all he has to say.
"Yes, Your Eminence. I speak Spanish and also a little Latin...I was told before I came to court that when Their Majesties first met they were only able to communicate in Latin"
I sip on the water... | |

| He raises an eyebrow, not only surprised to find out she speaks Spanish and Latin, but also that she knows about Henry and Catherine communicating in Latin when they met.
´My lady, that is... excellent! Her Majesty likes to communicate in Spanish and also you will be able to understand the conversations between her Spanish ladies-in-waiting.'
Looking satisfied at her, he takes a sip of water. Catherine will be pleased to have such nice company 'Well, I'd say we reach an agreement... you can start immediately, if you wish.' He frowns. 'As far as I know she needs new ladies-in-waiting and most of all she needs good company... I assume you can read, my lady?'

| I nod and smile a litte to myself as he seems pleased with my accomplishments. My father...before he died always ensured I had an education of equal standards to my brothers.
I place the goblet on the desk feeling a little more at ease now,"Oh yes Your Eminence. I love to read...Thomas More's Utopia is certainly a favourite of mine."

| He smiles and frowns at the same time.
'Ahh... you're a humaniste, my lady, well... so am I. Yes, sir More wrote a marvellous book, though I'm not sure Her Majesty appreciates it.' he sigh.
'In any case, you can read for her and help her... but don't forget Her Majesty is a very deep religious woman, she will decide which book you read for her.' he adds with a warning look.

| "I understand, Your Eminence. I was told of her deeply religious ways."
My father told me of how religious she was, which I do admire...somewhat...

| Wolsey put his elbows on the table, his head resting on his hands. 'Well, there is one thing left to discuss... how you will report to me, my lady. Every day is a little exaggerated I think, hmmm let's say, twice a week to give it a start. You can come here or visit me in my study, but please, don't ever send me a letter, I only want to hear things personally from you and letters could be intercepted.' He smiles with a look of understanding.
He frowns while thinking and adds 'If I might not be available, you should go to Master Cromwell, he will listen at you with pleasure on my behalf!'

| ´You´re welcome, my lady and thank you, for wanting to collaborate with me in the interests of their Majesties and the whole Realm´
He leans backward in his chair, relaxed. ´Well, as far as I am concerned we are ready... unless you have a question yourself?''

| I proceed to Cardinal Wolsey's reception room. A servant then greets me.
"I wish to have an audience with the cardinal,"I tell the servant.
He then bowed their head respectfully and enter the room...

| Wolsey just finishes another letter as a servant enters and announces the Duke of Windsor. He stands up behind his desk while the duke enters and smiles friendly.
´Welcome, Lord Craven... I think we never met before. Please, sit down, would you like something to drink?' He looks curious at him, he must be the brother of Lady Craven who, come to think about it, has not reported to him yet. He smiles at him and sits down himself.

| Royce reached Wolsey's reception room, as he asked him. He surely wanted to talk about Cordelia. He saw a servant standing out of his door
Boy...announce me at the Cardinal. Tell him that Royce Westmoreland is here to see him...

| He bowed respectfully to The Cardinal and smiled at the splendour of the room. The priceless tapestries and ornaments...and of course The Cardinal himself who gives a kind look but also somewhat intimidating.
"Your Eminence,"He said as he bowed...
He then walked a little closer to him and bowed his head respectfully. As hr did he heard a noise outside and he then turned to the door- He could hear a mans voice from the other side of the door. He gave the Cardinal a look a little frustrated at the interruption ...

| A servant enters and bows. Wolsey gestures at him to appoach him and listens at him while he whispers that a new visitor has arrived. He raises his eyebrows and answers him softly. 'Tell him to wait... I want to see him! He may leave if he wants to, but I want him to come immediately as I will call for him!'
When the servant leaves quietly, he turns to the duke, smiling and he makes an inviting gesture. 'My Lord, please, take a seat. Do you like to drink some water or juice? Perhaps a wine?' he asks him. He nods approvingly, he can tell by the way he is dressed and acts he is a real gentleman.

| He smiled and nodded his head as he took a seat, grateful of The Cardinals reply to the stranger outside.
"Some water would be nice, Your Eminence. Thank you,"
He then admired the room as a servant poured some water into a goblet...

| OOC 'the Wolsey closet' at Hampton Court [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Wolsey watched the duke and enjoyed his visable admiration of the linenfold panelling and the richly decorated tapestries, some of which were changed every week. When the servant left he leaned backwards in his chair, relaxed. ´Well, Lord Craven, I am very pleased to meet you. Your sister Elizabeth told me about you, only good things, of course!´ he smiled. ´What can I do for you, my lord?' | |

| He laughed kindly and then replied,"I should hope so...she is a little rebellious. I do hope she did nothing to embarrass herself or indeed Your Eminence..."
He then took a sip of the water and continued,"Your Eminence I come to request that you may talk with His Majesty...On my behalf. There are two reasons. I intend to marry though I understand His Majesty must first give his permission and secondly to perhaps become a member of The Privy Council. I hope to have family and cannot live frivolously on my families wealth... I wish to work and earn my money even though I perhaps don't necessarily need to."

| Wolsey smiled though frowned also a little while the Duke referred to his sister as being a bit rebellious. 'Well, My Lord, your sister is very affable... though I confess I expected perhaps too much of her when I appointed her as a Lady-in-Waiting to Her Majesty.'
He took a sip of water, thoughtfull but then smiled when being asked to mediate. 'Ahh... you plan to marry, well, I am willing to speak to the King on your behalf, though I'd like to know more about your future wife, can you tell me something about her?'
He rubbed his chin, meanwhile guessing if the duke would fit in the Privy Council. It was important to only appoint men he fully trusted.
'About your second request... you ask me about a very important, highly privileged function. I appointed your sister in the direct neighbourhood of the queen, but the demands to become a member of the Privy Chamber are much higher. I need to know more about you, My Lord, to decide on this.'

| He nodded as he spoke, listening carefully and respectfully. He laughed a little,"She is willing and modest by nature although sometimes a little to free spirited...If it please Your Eminence I could talk with her, caution her..."
He then replied,"She is The Duchess of Genoa Alfonsina Garcia...She is...She is the most beautiful creature on Gods earth."
He then cleared his throat,"I understand this Your Eminence and will help you upon making your decision with pleasure."

| Wolsey smiled and raised a hand. 'I thank you, sir, though there is no need to caution her... perhaps you can ask her to meet me, when you see her, or I will send her a message.... I just think she misunderstood my intentions and will explain them again.'
His smile widened when the duke spoke about his future wife. 'Ahh.... I am most pleased to hear this. I don't know the Duchess in person, though I wonder... Genoa, you say... and she is here, at the English court? Perhaps she wants to go back, so it might be possible you will not stay here?'
He leaned forward after his offer to help him make a decision. 'Please, Lord Craven, tell me about yourself. How long have you been here at court? What have you done before? I will listen to you with interest.'
