I walk in and clear my throat, Your Majesty, I bow my head, I have arranged for Katherine and I to leave for Navarre for some alone time and to get away from the Duke of Penbroke and his advances towards my wife. I simply blurt it all out, laying it all out on the table.

What? The Duke of Penbroke?! This is traison! Attempting to a marriage arranged by muself! I'll interrogate him about that. Sorry..but I can't allow you to leave until I'll have interrogated Katherine too..

He said finally, trying to control his anger

I lower my head and breathe deeply. I wanted to leave but I guess not. I look back up, Katherine has admitted to me in front of one of my valets that the Duke has kissed her. I take a deep breath before continuing, It has taken everything in me to not beat him to within an inch of his life. I will defend my wife's honor until my last breath.

Alfonsina dressed her favourite and beautiful dress then she walked down the corridor and came to the chambers of the King. She smiled and bowed to the man in front of his door.

"I wish to see His Majesty. I am Alfonsina Garcia."

Then she started to wait while she was accepted.

Alfonsina...my dear! I'm truly happy to see you at court again. I find you..beautiful like always. I was told you were in Genoa. But you know I never forgot our friendship. So tell me: what can I do for you?

He asked still smiling and admiring her beauty

"Yes your Majesty.. I was in Genoa but I missed here and I came back."

Then she continued.

"I just came here to see you if you are happy and well.. I have nothing to wish for."

I'm happy, yes! Because very soon I'll have a new Queen! I don't know if someone informed you that I'm now the Supreme Head of Church. So there are no obstacles anymore to my happiness. But what about your happiness, Alfonsina? It has been a while since your husband passed away..

He added with sincere concern

Then she looked down.

"Nothing changed about mine. Since then I have noone to make me happy. I am just taking care of my son and waiting. "

Alfonsina blushed after King's words. Because she hasn't heard such compliments for ages. She smiled.

"Thank you , Your Majesty. Your words are so precious for me."

She smiled again by looking into his deep eyes.

"I don't want to disturb you , Your Majesty, I am sure you have a lot to do."

You never disturb me, Alfonsina. It's always a pleasure to see you. You can come to visit me whenever you wish. But bring your lovely little son, next time. I'd like to give him my blessing..

Henry bowed with his head and watched her leaving in silence. He remembered with pleasure old times and beautiful moments spent with Alfonsina. He wondered if this could happen again, in spite of events that changed her life
