Katherine bowed her head respectfully at which the sleeve of her dress slipped off her alabaster shoulder. With a gentle tut she pulled it over the soft curve of her shoulder and adjusted it into place,"Yes indeed, Your Grace, compared to the characters in court our family could be easily overlooked. I have come hither to be a new lady for the Duchess of Genoa...Your Grace."

"Charles smiled amused while she was fixing her dress on her shoulders"

Oh...do you mean lady Alfonsina? She is a dear friend of mine. And...we have many things in common, I see...

"He added with a grin, staring at her attractive face"

Katherine nodded as a grin lit up her face,"Yes indeed. Well...I am sure The Duchess delights in having a friend as good as, Your Grace."

I have no doubts about that. She is a lovely person, really. Are you married, my lady?

Katherine nodded in agreement. She now noticed the looks of courtiers and looked down modestly. Never could she fathom the attention she drew and always tried her upmost to ignore their desire and admiration.
"No, Your Grace I am not married,"she said softly, wondering why he would ask such a question,"And may I say...Your Grace, without being too bold, how sorry I am for the loss of your wife."

'Yes you must rise as high as you can at court and use your husband to do it if need be!' I caught Charles Brandon's eye and smiled innocently. He probably reckons he is so popular and has no idea what we young women actually think of his arrogant actions. 'I can very well believe that, the Queen is a bore who can not have any more children so she is useless!' I did sympathise with the Queen but her constant moping and praying were bringing us all down!

Lady Misseldon saw Charles Brandon and smilied at him.She hope that he never experienced what they both talk about him.

I grinned and nodded eagerly in reponse, 'True so true, you are very wise lady Misseldon, perhaps that is why you are such a dear friend!' I burst out laughing, 'I think we both make eachother worse just by being with eachother!!!'

Katherine clutched the wine and took a drink. It was pungent and a little too perfumed for her taste but none the less she did complain and took another smaller gulp. Although at the Duke's request she nearly choked,"Keep, Your Grace...company?"
