Alfonsina Garcia's Bedroom

Margaret felt reassured by Alfonsina's word and nodded slowly "I know, my lady. But I'm still under shock. I never met someone like him, before. And I fear...I could meet him again around court..." She added, feeling a shiver running along her back thinking at that

Alfonsina sighed heavily.

"You have every right to fear , my dear. He is a horrible man. Also , this is not his first thing. I heard some more horrible things about him. I think his majesty should know it."

Margaret raised suddenly her eyes to her, surprised "The King? Have you intention to talk with His Majesty, my lady?" She asked, feeling ashamed and relieved at the same time. She knew Alfonsina was a close friend to the King

She nodded.

"Yes.. But do not feel ashamed. If he knows , you will be safe Margaret. All the ladies in court will be safe. He is a dangerous man."

Margaret nodded and smiled weakly "Thank you, my lady...for everything you're doing for e. I'm really grateful..." She said with weak, but calm voice

She smiled warmly to her.

"Do not even mention about it Margaret. You are not my lady in waiting. You are my best friend."

Margaret smiled warmly after her words. She remained almost speechless "Thank you, my lady. It's such a honour for me. I'm very touched by your carying..." She said sweetly, already feeling better

She smiled and squeezed her hand.

"So.. Let's forget that terrible situation. You can be sure it will never happen to you."

She smiled warmly again.

"Tell me.. How do you spend your days in court?"

Margaret sighed and put a smile on her face again "Oh...I do nothing special, my lady. Sometimes I walk along garden in my free time, reading my books. I also adore sewing and helping my brother with his poems.." She answered, showing an innocent, joyful smile

She smiled softly.

"Mmh.. Maybe you can write poems like your brother , Margaret."

Jasper's young squire travelled quickly to The Duchess of Genoa's rooms. He quietly opened the door and bowed deeply.
"Your Grace, a note from The Duke of Lancaster."

Margaret giggled after she spoke "Writing poems? Oh...I don't think I'm good for that, my lady. I leave this task to my brother gladly, even if I like reading them..." Then she saw a servant bringing a note and looked curiously at Alfonsina

She smiled to Margaret , She would answer her but two servants came one after the other. They both brought a note. Alfonsina stood up and opened the first note. She saw it was from Jasper she smiled.

Then she opened the second note.

"Your Garce ,

We are truly sorry to tell you that you husband passed away. His body was found near the stream. He was poisoned by some food.

Our condolences to you."

She read the note third times. Then she felt dizzy. The room was spinning around her. She held the chair to be support for her. She looked at Margaret with full of tears. She couldn't speak.

Margaret realized that Alfonsina was shocked after reading that message. She stood up and came closer "My lady...are you alright? What's happened?" She asked worriedly, thinking that maybe the note was bringing some bad news. She touched softly her arm

She gulpled hardly.

"Edward... He died."

She spoke but she was whispering because something was giving pain to her throat.

Margaret opened her eyes bigger and put her hand on her own mouth. She looked worriedly at Alfonsina after she spoke "Wh...What? Oh my God! But...how it happened? Oh my lady...please sit here. Calm down, I'm here with you..." She said, noticing Alfonsina very upset. She made her sit on the bed and she took her trembling hands in hers

She couldn't speak for a while. She realized that she was sitting on the bed with the help of Margaret. Everything was black for her right now. She didn't know what to do. Her Edward.. Her husband , her life , her love.. She couldn't cry because she was shocked. Then she looked at Margaret.

"He was poisoned.. The letter says so."

Her eyes were blank.

"Let me lie down.. I want to sleep Margaret."

Margaret nodded and brought her slowly until the bed. She put immediately a pillow and made her lie down. She sat next to her on bed "I'm so sorry, my lady. But you're not alone. I'm with you and I won't leave you. It's a big loss. So...if you need crying, then cry. You have many friends at your side. You need some water, my lady..." She caressed softly her arm with a sad smile. Then poured immediately a glass of water and brought it to her

She took the water and took a sip from it. It burned her throat , but she gulped and put hear head on pillow. She was like a child now.

"Thank you.. I am so glad i have you."

She couldn't avoid to close her eyes. She fell asleep. She had a dream which made her cry for a little while. But then she could have a deep sleep.

Margaret covered Alfonsina with a blanket after she fell asleep. She decided not to leave the room and stay at her side when she'll wake up. Poor Alfonsina...she had so much pain in her life.. She thought. Then she stood up to set fire in the cheminy, wondering if she should let lord Suffolk know about Alfonsina's loss. She took a deep breath while bringing a piece of wood, hoping Alfonsina could meet soon a good man who will take care of her and her son

It had been several weeks since I'd met Alfonsina and spent the night with her. Whether or not anything happened between us, I still missed her. I went to her chambers and knocked gently.

Alfonsina woke up because she heard a knock on the door. She looked at Margaret. She was still by side of her. She smiled to her and watched her to open the door. Alfonsina straighted her up in the bed.

Margaret smiled at Alfonsina once she saw that, after a long sleep, she woke up. She rubbed softly her hand when suddenly she heard a knock at the door. She turned her head towards door and helped Alfonsina to sit on bed, lying her back against pillow. She opened the door and curtsied as she saw lord Seymour standing there "My lord...lady Alfonsina is resting. But she can receive you. Please, come in..." She stepped back to allow him to enter and looked surprised at Alfonsina

I smiled at Lady Wyatt and slowly entered the room. Alfonsina laid in the bed. She looked tired but when she smiled at me her eyes sparkled. "My lady.. forgive me if I've come at a bad time. I wanted to see you again.."

She saw Edward and she smiled.

"Oh,of course not my lord.. Forgive my situation. Please come and sit. Would you like anything to drink?"

She was happy to see Edward. It's been quite long time since she saw him. Then she realized that Margaret was surprised. She looked at smiled at her by wanting to tell she would explain later.
