She could feel that her eyes were full of tears.

"Thank you for your kind words , Edward.. I think every men I love are falling into pieces. It's like when I love them , something bad will happen to them."

Then she sighed and smiled sadly.

"I am cursed , I guess."

"Don't say such things, Alfonsina.. you cannot blame yourself for the trouble others get themselves into, there are no such things as curses. I think you should get out of this room, get some fresh air before you start to think too much on things beyond your control.." I said with a little smile on my face.

She smiled back to him and rubbed his hand soflty.

"Yes.. You are right. I will Edward. Maybe fresh air will be a little better for me than to stay in my bedroom all day."

I smiled. "What do you say, shall we have a walk outside? I promise to bring you back straightaway if you begin to feel unwell again," I said, hoping she'd say yes.

She nodded and smiled.

"Yes.. I'd like to."

She got out of the bed and took her coat.

I helped her put her coat on, and saw how thin she had become in her solitude. I frowned. "Perhaps we shall also dine, in my chambers if you like? I want you to get healthy again.." I said, feeling an overwhelming sense of duty towards her.

She smiled weakly and nodded.

"Yes! That would be great.. But I don't want to disturb you Edward. I am sure that you have some work to do.."

I smiled at her and put an arm around her slender frame. "I will make time for you, work is nothing that cannot wait." Already I could not believe I was saying something like this, it was most unlike me, but she had a hold on me I could not shake myself from. "Come, let's take that walk," I escorted her out the door.

She smiled after his words and nodded her head.

"Okay let's go then. I guess I have already started feeling well."

She winked.

I smiled and winked back at her as I led her out of the room.

Margaret decided to visit finally Alfonsina. After two weeks spent in Genoa with Cesare, she felt almost guilty for doing all this behind her back. But Cesare left her no time. She took a breath and knocked at the door "My lady...may I come in? It's me...Margaret.." She said with hesitant voice

She was playing with Thoma when she heard a knock on the door. The voice was familiar. She answered softly.

"Come in."

Margaret walked into room and saw Alfonsina playing with her son. She smiled weakly and came closer "My lady...I ask you to forgive me. I should have talked with you about what was happening with your brother. But...everything happened so fastly. I never meant to act behind your back.." She said immediately, looking down

She was surprised to see Margaret. Alfonsina took her son to her lap and then she sat down.

"If you are happy and will be , I have nothing to say Margaret."

She pointed the sofa near her for Margaret to sit.

"But I would have been happy if you had called me to your wedding."

Margaret sat on the sofa and looked apologetically at her "I know..I would have wished that too, my lady. But Cesare left me no time. He...he asked me to marry him immediately, in the night. We left for Genoa so quickly. I had no time to talk with my brother, neither.." She sighed and looked at the baby "Maybe you hoped for a better wife for your brother. But I don't care about rank. I love him.." She added almost whispering, turning her eyes to her

She shook her head immeditately and smiled at her softly.

"I don't care about ranks and I know that I couldn't find more suitable wife more than you."

She squeezed Margaret's hand.

"Be happy , that's all I want."

She sighed and started to talk again.

"Tell me .. How is it going?"

Margaret smiled, feeling much moe relaxed by her words "Oh...thank you, my lady. Your opinion is so important for me. Oh..it's going very well. I admit that at the beginning...I didn't like your brother very much. But now...I changed completely my mind and I think I'm in love..." She paused and took a breath "He even respected my virginity until the altar.." She added whispering, blushing a bit

Alfonsina listened her carefully then she smiled.

"If everything is okay with your marriage , I have nothing to say."

Then she asked playfully.

"Will I have a nephew or a niece?"

Margaret blushed and smiled joyfully "Oh...we're just married, my lady. But I wish having a child soon. I want to give him many children.." She paused and looked smiling at her "Sincerely...I missed my period but I'm not sure. I told nothing to Cesare. He looked so worried about Genoa.." She added sighing

She smiled widely.

"Oh.. So my niece or nephew is coming , we can say for now."

After she heard some news about Genoa , she frowned.

"What happened? What is wrong with Genoa?"

Margaret smiled and touched softly her belly "Yes...I still can't believe that.." She sighed and looked at her face "Genoa risked an invasion by the Queen of Milan, my lady. Cesare fought to defend the city from invasion. And luckily...the enemy left Genoa. He is back at court, now. But I was so worried for his life.." She explained with a relaxed smile

She continue to frown while Margaret was talking about the situation in Genoa. Then she nodded.

"What about my brother? Why doesn't he visit me? I am so angry with him and also upset.."

Then she sighed.

"When you see him , can you remember him that he has a sister?"

Margaret smiled for her words and nodded "Of course, I will. He never forgot you, my lady. He is just busy and worried for Genoa's future. I trust him. And little Rinaldo will have a little cousin soon.." She smiled and touched softly her belly

She giggled after Margaret's last words and then rubbed his son head.

"So they can grow up together.."

She smiled soflty.

Margaret looked at Rinaldo and smiled weakly. She sighed and looked at her again "Yes...but I fear...I fear that Cesare could take a mistress during my pregnancy. He treats me well, and I have no reason to have doubts. But sometimes he looks so strange...You know that he just had a son from Mary Boleyn, right?" She asked, trying not to show all her concern. Cesare was her brother, after all

Alfonsina didn't say anything about takin mistress. She was hating of these situations. She knew that men had some needs. That was the thing her mother had been saying to her. Then she paid attention to Margaret again and nodded.

"I know.. And I still can't believe why my brother chose a Boleyn at those times. Margaret.. My brother can be moody sometimes. When the time passes , it can be hard to communicate with him but be patient. Do not fall all over him. If he loves you which I am sure about it , he will always take care of you and your children."

She smiled softly by thinking how she missed Cesare.
