Garden

I needed some fresh air and went out for a walk out in the gardens. I had thoughts about life and how proud I was of little Henry. I smile came over my face as I looked over to the horizon.

Margaret went out in the garden. She was almost full recovered and the physician suggested her to spend more time outside, breathing fresh air. Suddenly she stopped as she noticed Anthony Knivert was there too. She came closer with silent steps and curtsied "Sir Anthony.." She said whispering

I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a sweet voice, I turned around and saw Margaret. "Margie, how good it is to see you how are you....really?" I said looking at her knowing what she had just endured. "My deepest sympathies are with you at this time." I said very concerned for her well being.

Margaret looked at him with a bright smile "I feel better, my lord. Thank you for carying. I also talked with your kind wife, recently. How are you?" She asked, forgetting completely all problems they had in the past

She looked so beautiful, it was as if time had been kind to her, with her long brunette hair and striking eyes. "As well as can be expected my lady" I put on a false smile to perhaps fool her that I had been fine. "My concern is for you, forgive me for not coming to you sooner." I said holding my tongue about Alfonsina's brother.

Margaret shrugged and showed a weak, sweet smile "You have no need to apologize, Anthony. It has been..an horrible moment. But I feel much better, now. I have many friends around me, lucklily.." She took a breath and looked at his face "Rather, I wish to congratulate with you for your son. It must be...a great joy.." She added whispering, with a bit of sadness in her voice

I knew her better than that and could hear the sadness in her voice. I looked her as she asked about my son
"Well im very proud, his name is Henry; I couldn't ask for anything more." I said hoping she wouldn't ask about my marriage and how my wife have not been seen together at court.

Margaret nodded and sat on the edge of the fountain. She looked up at the balcony and smiled "I gave my first kiss to you, there. Do you remember?" She asked whispering, turning to him with a joyful smile

I sat next to her " Yes, I remember quite well" I said and placed my hand over hers as I admired the way the sun made her eyes change colors and gave her skin a dewy glow. I sat closer to her "May I have a kiss from you once more my lady?" I asked as I had desired her for many years.

Margaret looked at his hands on her and raised her eyes to him. She didn't know what to say "My lord..that happened in the past. You're married, now.." She whispered, staring at his lips

I sighed and looked at her seriously " Yes, I know, and I'm not trying to take advantage you. It's just...." I didn't know how to explain Charlotte and I were having problems in our marriage.

Margaret looked at him in silence "You...what, Anthony?" She whispered, blushing and lowering her eyes for a while

I took her hands in mine "You know I made a mistake when I left you, but I thought you no longer wanted me cause of my reputation. Although, now things are much different, being a father has changed me. I'm not the person I once was" I said looking deep into her eyes speaking the truth.

Margaret gulped and took a deep breath "Anthony..I suffered so much when you left me. I thought...I thought I was nothing for you.." She glanced fastly around garden and looked back into his eyes "But now you have a wife, and a son. I can't ruin all this.." She said whispering, enjoying the warmth of his hands on hers

I brought both her hands to my lips and kissed them "And I apologize for that from the bottom of my heart, I do not wish to ever hurt you ever again, you have been through enough." I said and kept her hands in mine. "In truth my marriage is the ideal marriage and we have been drifting apart. What I mean is....she gave me permission to have a lover." After I said it i couldn't believe I was telling her this.

Margaret opened her mouth, almost unable to talk "Your wife gave you permission to have...what?" She took a breath and shook her head "Anthony..I...I can't. I can't be someone's mistress.." She could barely whisper, confused by his proposal. She looked up at his deep eyes

"Why not? I care for you deeply, your the only other woman have ever had real feelings for and I need you" I said looking at her "I can not divorce my wife or the king will have me banished forever. " I held her face wanting to be with her more than anything.

Margaret kept on sighing deeply. She touched his hands on her face "I don't want all court call me whore, Anthony. I'm not such woman. I.." She stopped suddenly, thinking about how much she suffered because of Cesare's mistresses "My marriage has been a nightmare because of this. I...I felt so much pain for his whores. How can I be like them?" She asked, still shocked by his proposal

I looked her a knew she right. "Well in truth i still love my wife, Charlotte has been there for me through everything and she's given me the greatest gift all, my son." i said looking at her still wanting her.

Margaret looked up at him with a confused face "So..why you asked me to become your mistress, then? Anthony, you know I can't hurt Charlotte.." She said weakly, without removing her eyes from him

I leave the Autumn Party and decide to walk about the gardens. I love England but I am itching to go home where I belong.

Ben was heading to the Autumn party and decided to take a short cut through the gardens. He turned the corner and almost ran into another gentleman. "Excuse me, my lord" he said slowly as he noticed he was the Prince of Navarre. "Your grace, pardon me." He bowed his head.

Suddenly someone walks into me and it causes me to nearly fall over. Looking towards the man, I notice that it is the Duke that kissed my wife and I feel my blood begin to boil. My hatred for this man will never end! "Your Grace" I say simply.

He heard the tone in his voice and knew this would not be a pleasant encounter. He didn't know what to say next "Pardon me for not watching where I was walking. Good day." He bowed and began to walk away.

I could not let him walk away. I could not let him get away with what he did to me and my wife. I run up to him and grab his shoulder ''Why did you kiss my wife?"
