After Thomas's departure, Emilie join the armchair and sat on it followed by Olympe who carry the big book in her arms and sat on her laps, she smile, kiss her head, take the book from her arms, look for the page where Thomas have stop to read, then continue the story, feeling serene and relaxed.

Servant arrives with a letter

Dearest Countess Emilie,

I write this letter with a pain in my heart and I do hope you except my apology. I have had time to think since I have arrived at Hever the journey down made me realise how rude I was to you and your daughter. I again apologise since I do not know her name. I should know where you stand as being in the same situation as yourself with my daughter Catherine. If you ever wish talk then I am willing to make amends therefore I wish for you to visit us as at Hever so our daughters can get to know each other. I do understand if you do not wish to. I was not angry at you but George for not being honest with myself. As a token off sorry I have a gift for your daughter. I do hope you except it if not please leave in my room for when I return. Again I am sorry

Yours

Mary B

Emilie, joining her room, find Mary's letter, surprised and even more to see the doll by it's side, than can only be a gift for Olympe, she take the letter, sat on her bed and read it, feeling touched by Mary's sincere apologize and by her invitation to visit her and present Olympe to her cousin, while feeling nervous at the idea to go there.
She take a while for deal with her emotions and can think clearly, then she feel that even if the bad word toward Olympe have hurt her, she can forgive her and would be glad to give a chance to a possible relationship at last between Olympe and her Mary and with her cousin too.
Then she get up, take her writing material and paper, then write a letter if answer, give it to a servent for send it, then take the doll and leave, join her daughter's room..
