Royal Gardens

I nodded,smiling uncomfortably.

''Oh I am very aware about my brother's decision about us,and the only thing I can do is to obey to his wishes...''

I said sadly looking at my hands.

I looked into his eyes,and immediately saw the sincerity there and I was both awed and amazed.

''My lord,don't get me wrong I have nothing against you,from everything that I heard about you I may say that you are a real gentleman and very kind and brave man,but all this happened so quickly that I am still confused and surprised...''

He brought my hand up to his lips and kissed my hand gently,and I smiled.

''And I promise you,my lord that I will try my best to be good wife to you...''

I nodded and smiled warmly.

''Oh yes,I would like that very much,my lord...''

I said softly looking at him.

I placed my hand gently in his offering arm and we walked slowly through garden.

''I was married once, but I do not like to talk about it very much...Sometime I wish to have simple life and to be away from court,maybe it sounds funny to you,but sometime I feel so tired of everything that happen here at court...I love to walk and to be outdoors,I feel so happy and free when when I am surrounded by nature, also I love to read very much...''

I looked at him and said softly.

''Now is your turn to say something about yourself,my lord...''

I smiled broadly and said.

''Oh your life sound so exciting and you my lord,deserve the title more than anyone that I know...Even here you are showed how brave you are my lord by saving Cordelia,which is why I would always be very grateful to you,my lord...''

I looked at him to see his reaction to the mention of her name.Then I heard what he said and I looked him surprised.

''May I ask why do you think that?''

I asked curiously

I blushed and looked down at my feet.

''Thank you for such a nice compliment,my lord...that you were not there, who knows what would happen to her so thank God for that...yes she is good now...''

I said little sadly knowing that she is not fine at all.Then I looked at him and saw that he was deep in his thoughts,like as if something is troubling him.I didn't said anything,I just continued to walk.

I turned towards him a little confused by his question.

''The only thing I do not like about our wedding is that I am going to break someone's heart, and that person is very dear to me...Am I happy to be marrying you? Yes, I believe that I am. At first, I didn't know you and I was scared and confused. I was also unhappy because I was going to break someone's heart. But now, I can see that you are a good man and I believe that you can make me happy and that I can make you happy as well. My Lord, for a Royal wedding, I don't care to much. It is not important what kind of wedding I would have but it is important whom I will marry. I'll be happy as the Duchess just the same as if I were Queen.''

I answered honestly.

''And you,my lord are you happy ?''

I smiled softly and nodded.


''Yes I am talking about Cordelia....I am always worried about her but yes she is young and she will fell in love again...I hope that she will not get into some trouble just to hurt her father.''

I looked right in his eyes and smiled.

''Please,call me Mary ,after all we are getting married soon so you can call me by my name''

I couldn't stop the smile that appeared on my face when he start calling me by my name.Then I looked at him and nodded in agreement.

'' I am sure that you will be good husband....and I promise you I shall be a good wife for you,my lord.''

He kissed my hand deeply,letting his lips linger there for moment.

I continued to walk with him through the garden, listening carefully what he was saying.

''And why do you think that you don't deserve such honour?''

I asked curiously,looking at him.

I wasn't sure if I said yes, or if the sound came out that way as I tried to exhale, but at the same time he closed the distance between us. His lips pressed in softly against mine, and at first the sensation was so wonderful I felt weightless, carried away on the winds of a feeling...

Suddenly I felt warm; my cheeks turned bright red as I became embarrassed by the kiss. I felt like a little girl who for the first time was kissed.It was the feeling that I felt long before Royce walked in my life, when Charles was my love. I remembered our fist kiss,the first time when I felt butterflies in my stomach. Now, that feeling was reborn. I looked at him and smiled.

''No need to thank me ,my lord...''
