The Balcony

Jane stopped smiling after hearing the kings great matter and she nodded a little 'Indeed' she whispered.

After being at court and serving Queen Katherine for so long, I had mixed feelings about the King divorcing."You you her majesty, queen Katherine, is a good woman and does not deserve this kind disrespect." I said knowing hoping Queen Katherine would not be sent into exile.

Jane nodded 'Nay she does not deserve such things, i am fully against the kings great matter' she said.

I didn't know if I should express my true feelings of the Kings matter with her since we had just met and I was to soon be in the Boleyn family. "Well the King is entitled to do what he deems is right, and if he feels the lady Boleyn shall make a good queen then let it be." I said keeping my own comments to myself.

Jane raised her eyebrow and looked at the woman 'I feel asif he should not dispose of Katherine the way he is doing so' she said with a strong voice.

This time I could not hold my tongue. "I very much agree, her majesty is a very prestigious woman, whom I admire so much. It's unlawful what his majesty is doing to her." I said with powerfully.

Jane smiled and nodded 'I agree so, Lady Jane' she said with a smile 'I have served alongside the Lady Anne, never did i think she would do such things' she said.

As we had been speaking for a few hours, I had begun to feel closer to her. I leaned in a lowered my voice. "I think the lady Anne is mere whore. I've heard rumors that she has had a love affair with the poet Thomas Wyatt." I said and took another drink of my wine feeling a bit tipsy.

Jane rose her eyebrow 'Really?' she said and she smiled 'I heard she was at french court serving' she said, indicating that once you were at French court, you probably slept with over hundreds of men.

I smiled and tried not laugh. "You know her sister Mary is known as a french prostitute?" I said almost laughing again.

Jane widened her eyes and whispered into Jane's ear 'I heard that Mary was Henry's mistress' she whispered and she pulled back and laughed.

I put my hand over my mouth then looked at Jane surprised "Henry, had Mary before Anne?!!" I giggled and wondered how many times he had Mary.

Jane giggled and nodded with a smile 'Indeed he had' she said with a slight giggle and smile.

I was enjoying my time with my new friend. Apparently she knew some gossip that I had now heard of. "What else have you heard of the innocent Anne Boleyn?" I asked hoping I could learn more about my soon to be sister in law.

She thought for a moment and looked at Jane and whispered into her ear 'i heard, that her family had all this planned out' she said and she pulled back at looked at Jane.

I looked at the lady Basset in shook. "You mean her family paraded Anne under his majesty's nose, even though the Boleyn's weren't a family of great wealth?" I ask getting more intrigued by her knowledge of the Boleyn family.

Jane thought a moment to choose her words wisely 'The Boleyn's...have distant royal blood, but yes, they did indeed' she said.

I put my hand on my chin and smirked. "I did not know they had royal blood. Although, who knows why his majesty is so drawn to Anne." I said.

Jane looked at the woman 'She is not like the others Jane, her eyes...they are dark...her skin...is not pale..and yet not tan...but a olive color..she has..a look..about her mi'lady...she is not the most beautiful..not is different' she said.

As she described Anne, I realized she was right Anne was not very beautiful, in fact far fetched from the word. I always seen his majesty with ladies so beautiful I envied them, but Anne...I stood there in deep thought for a moment. Then looked at the lady Bassett, "What do you think his majesty see's in Anne?"

Jane shook her head 'We have all yet to find out, she is very witty and intelligent' she said 'maybe he see's that in her' she added with a small shrug.

"I suppose, I do look forward to getting acquainted with her, and perhaps i'll find out her foes" I said as I already did not like Anne for her and George had a very odd relationship that annoyed me.

I smile and nod 'I like talking to you My Lady, we have alot in common about gossiping' i say with a laugh and i smile at her.

I giggle and nod "Indeed lady Basset. I think we shall be great friends." I say as take a sip of my wine. "What say you of his majesty's divorce?" I asked always interested in others views about the divorce.
