'' I know what kind of dress I want ! It would be covered with diamonds, not completely of course. There would be minimal decorations, and silk would be nicely embroidered on. The dress would reach to the knees, then continue going down to the floor diagonally. The back of the dress would drag on the floor.''

I said happily to her.

Olympe's eyes shine as she hear Mary's descriptions of the dress that she would like, imagining how beautiful it must be.

I think that it's would be magnificent ! especially with diamonds on it !, but it's would be better with some silver embroideries, I think so.

She smile and ask her with a curious air.

In fact, I think that there isn't choice to do, diamonds and touchs of silver could match well together on your dress ! don't you think so ?

The little girl listen to her with interest, always intrigued about people's relationships, looking up at her with her eyes wide opened.

Olympe is amazed by Mary's passionate words about her fianced and even more of by love that she feel in them, she smile mischievously, always intrigued and amused by adult people's love stories and ask her.

Olympe giggle, placing her little hands on her chubby cheeks, a glint of mischief in her clear eyes.

Me, I think that you do yet love him !

Then she grow serious and ask her, thoughtful, thinking to the stories between the adult around her and especially between her parents, that isn't like in fairytales.

Do you think that you and your fianced will love each others for all your life ? like ma bonne maman Cecile et mon bon papa le roi Louis, who have love each others while all his life, even if they wasn't married ?

Olympe listen attentively to Mary's words and nodd.

I think that you simply can't know if your love will last for ever or not.

Some questions that she know being delicates topics to aboard with her mother, she look around and see Emilie having get away from them and being in full discussion with one of her friends, she turn again to Mary.

For exemple, the king Armand seemed to love my maman very much and even me, he wanted to marry her and make me his daughter, but now he seem don't care of us anymore at all.

She shrugg.

Being busy isn't a reason for don't at last write letters, because it don't take much time to write and send a letter ! when you really love someone, you always find a little time for a letter. I know that maman doubt that he will come back to us, I think that she don't believe in it and I think like her.

She reflect, a air serious on her little face, feeling worried for her mother and add.

If he really love her, he should come back to us soon, but if he don't love her, it's better that he don't come back if it's for make her unhappy.

''It is a little more complicated than that my dear.He is King he have a duty to his country but I do think that he will come back to your mother and that he still love her. But you are righ if he don't love her anymore than is the best for him not to come back,but I think that he love her still.''

Olympe listen attentively to Mary's words, feeling spectical, beause aside for this letter arrived a few months ago after more than a year of silence, he don't give any signs that he still think to them.

You think so ? Me, I am not sure and my maman also.

She think to her father with whom she have spend some time yesterday and it's chear up her mind and she smile.

Anyway, even if I like him, I don't need him, I have my maman and since we are back at court, I see my papa George more often and he told me that whatever will happen, he will always be my papa, even if the king marry my mother and adopt me, he will still be my true papa and love me, always.

Olympe nodd slowly while frowning slighty and answer her.

I hope so too because I think it's would make my maman happier and even me, I would be happy. But if he don't come back, I think that we will surely be happy anyway, just the two of us together, like we had always been since my birth ... aside when papa did live with us for a time.

She reflect for try to catch some images of this period in her memory but can't, it's seem that she was so little back them for can recall, then she smile radiantly in hearing Mary's answer as she recall of the good time she have spend with her father at court since her return there.

Yes I am very happy of it ! especially since it was a long time that I hadn't see him, as you know, maman and me aren't at court at full time and I never see him when I we are at Eastnor and even when we are at court, he is rarely there too. I have ask him why and he told me that he is often in travel for his work, because he is diplomat and that when it isn't for his work, his father give him many things to do.

She feel reassured by Mary's words that confirm what her father told her.

I know now an I am very happy of it ... because I was a bit feared about my papa, especially when my maman have introduce me to the king Armand and told me what they were planning ... because ...

She reflect, looking for her words for express what have make her worried while all this time and that she hadn't tell to anyone before her father spontaneously aboard the topic and reassure her about it.

I do like Armand, he has been very kind to me and I was allright for become legally his daughter since he would have marry my maman and I am still allright if he do like he told us, but I wanted and still want to have my true papa also and I feared that he would think that Armand was remplacing him as my father and that so I wouldn't need him anymore and ...

Her voice broke a bit as her face take a sad air, then she continue.

And that because of it, once I would have leave for Italy with his majesty and my maman, I wouldn't see him again anymore ever nor recieve any new of him because he could have think that I don't wanted him as my father anymore since I was to have Armand as father.

Then her ephemerous sadness evaporate in the air in one instant as she recall of her retrouvailles with her father.

But what he told me have reassure me totally, now I know that even if king Armand come back and take us in Itally, marry my mother and all, I will still have my papa also !

''I undrstand you and your mother are not always here and he have his dutys to attend to.You don't need to worry no one wants to replace your father and I am sure that if your mother marry Armand you will be able to see your father and I am sure that Armand don't want to replace your father.He will surely send you letter wants when you are in Italy and you mother will come back here for visit.''

I hope so, if ever his majesty come back and take me in ItaIy with my mother, I want to continue to see my papa sometimes, I know that it will not be often sadly, but I will write to him and invitate him to come to visit me in Italy and I hope that he will write to me and invitate me in England, I think that he will since he tell that he love me .

She lower her eyes, looking at her hands.

I am sad at the idea to leave England, if his majesty take me in Italy, because my friends and my papa are here and here it's my country, papa told me that I am a true english little lady.

Olympe reflect to Mary's word while admiring beautiful the landscape before her.

I guess that if I go in Italy, I will end by like it too, but I don't know if I will like it as much as England. Anyway, if my mother don't marry the king Armand, then this departure will never happen.

She look around, thoughtful, then she recall of her retrouvailles with her father and giggle at the memories.

You know, my papa have make me feared when he have come to see me, in the garden, after his arrival, but it was funny !
