The day after their meeting in the garden, Margaret decided to visit sir Francis. She wanted to give him something back. But she thought that it would have been too bold from her going in his bedroom. So she choosed to see him in his study room. Once in front of his door, she took a deep breath and knocked "Sir Francis...may I come in?" She said hesitantly with soft voice

I finish with writing a letter to send overseas when i hear a knock, then Margaret Wyatt's sweet voice. I go to answer it and allow her in, leaving the door open so she will feel more comfortable. Also I don't want anyone to start a rumor because they saw her come alone to my study.

"Lady Margaret! What brings you here?" I ask with a smile.

Margaret walked inside room with slow steps and curtsied. She smiled "Sir Francis...forgive me if I come here without being announced. I didn't want to disturb you. But I wanted to give you something back..." She took the handkerchief from her neckline corset slowly, and handed it to him "Thank you again for your help, my lord. It has been very useful and I'm fine, as you see..." She added with a sweet smile, looking at him

I look at her confusedly. "I don't think I understand. I hope you weren't thinking I was expecting anything from you after giving you this. It was a gesture of kindness."

Margaret remained speechless after his words. She turned her eyes somewhere else, still holding his handkerchief in her hand. She felt really offended "I...I think you misunderstood my words, my lord. This is your handkerchief...the same you gave me so kindly to dab my wound. And...after washing it carefully...I thought it would have been kind to give it back to you. That's all..." She said with trembling voice. Then she turned her eyes towards him "Or...were you thinking about something else, my lord?" She asked angrily, feeling her cheeks blushing because of anger and embarassement

I can easily sense her anger and so I gently take the hankie from her. "Forgive me, my lady. I meant no offense. I thank you for returning it but in honesty I did not expect it back." I smile and try to win her over. "Please think no ill of me. I expect nothing from you except friendship, possibly. But if you think me too untrustworthy to be friends then I will understand."

Margaret took a deep breath and nodded "You are forgiven, my lord. I thank you again for your kindness...And, I don't think you're unworthy of my friendship. So we can talk again, if this pleases you. I wish you a nice day. My lord..." She curtsied and left quickly his room

I brought Felicity back to my study, glad to see it had been freshly cleaned by the servants. I bade her to come in and let her take a look around the place.
